Did I miss something about 401K match - ?
Posted: Mar 13, 2012
Did we get an email about them matching now? I didn't get one and I've seen some posts on here about it. If so, can someone tell me the date they got the email? Thanks

I just saw the below posts and I haven't heard anything about this. Of course, I would be thrilled with any kind of match.
mine is dated 3/12 - slave wages

How can you all afford to have more taken out of your check?
I am lucky i guess - ?

I am a tier 3 full time, average about $31K a year. I only have 3% held out of each check which is about $35 every pay check. I am lucky though that I am on my husband's insurance so my only deduction is this one. It is not much, but over the last 9 years, with dividends and market gains, it has added up to just over $20,000. I just pretend like I don't even have that $70 or so a month and don't count it in my monthly budget for bill planning. So far it has worked out pretty good. I am a big believer in the 401K and even if you can only put $10 per check in, over time that will add up too.
Forgot to mention though - ?

Back in the day when I was making $50K a year, I was having 20-25% put in, which boosted me up pretty fast, but now with the big pay cuts we have all had, I have had to take it down to 3%.
Got the email but - old and burned out

the amount is so small it is a joke. True I am only part-time but I figure they will match about $30/year.

It is our pleasure to share with you today a preview of a few benefit changes we will be launching for all US-based employees. These changes are an important key step in the integration of all M*Modal companies. We've received your feedback through emails, surveys, and employee conversations regarding our 401k and benefit plan. I'm happy to announce we will be offering a 401K company match, 25% of the first 4% which will be reflected every pay period for those enrolled. The company match will be introduced during our Open Enrollment period and become effective on July 1, 2012. As a reminder, you can elect to enroll in our 40lk program at anytime throughout the year as long as you meet the program eligibility requirements. You can enroll by visiting the Merrill Lynch my Benefits website and following the prompts to create your account.
We also understand how important benefits are to you, so this year; we are focusing on improving our benefits portfolio. Our team is working hard on designing a benefit plan that meets the needs of all our employees, and as one output of that work, we are moving our benefit plan year from June 1 to July 1 2012. You will receive additional communications about this change shortly and look for further communications around the overall benefit enhancements in May during open enrollment.
These enhancements are another step in creating a culture of reward and recognition and attracting and retaining top talent. Please look for additional updates about benefits in the coming weeks and months

Don't know why I didn't get it, but I appreciate you posting it here for us! Thanks again.
If there is anyone who understands the 401K match, can they give us a sample, ie, if you gross 1000 per pay period what the 25% of the first 4% would be and how much you could expect. The way I do it, I would get 80 cents, so hoping I'm wrong. ...
Before I start slamming this company yet again for not keeping their promises, did anyone check their 401K and see a contribution? I know they were supposed to start matching after July 1st and the paycheck on Friday the 13th was the first one. I expected when I logged into my 401k this morning to see a contribution and surprise surprise nothing. ...
I'm wondering if I should just stop contributing at all.
I remember they used to, low as it was, at least it was something--like IF they made money, MAYBE they would and then a very low percentage, like 25 cents to the dollar?
Prob a mute point even asking.....but just wondering if they nixed that.
My sister is complaining because her company used to do a 100% match and now she only gets 75%. Boo hoo! At least she has a match.....I'm sure ours is now so ...
Out of curiosity I went to the Merrill Lynch site. I was looking around on my personal page; I had NO idea how much I had in there, and it showed me (I was surprised as I thought it was much less) But what do I know about it...never really kept up on it.....
However, I always thought MQ didn't contribute a CENT anymore? I clicked on "Learn more about your company's match" and it said it matches 50% of the first 5% you contribute....WTH??? Can anyone confirm or refute ...
Here is an article that talks about 401K. Mmodal's 401K plan stinks.
"The most common 401(k) employer match is now dollar-for-dollar for the first 6% of income that an employee defers."
Mmodal only matches 25% up to 4% which equals 1% in a lump sum which is even stingier than matching it each pay period to allow the participants to take advantage of compounding. The worst thing - We don't even know if Mmodal is going to match this year. In years past they sent out a letter res ...
Maybe it is just me but I called Merrill Lynch and there was no match made to the 401K at the end of the year. Imagine that. They said they would match and then did not. Shame on me for believing them. ...
This doctor not only mumbles the name, but mumbles the spelling of the name. I try every which way to spell what I hear, but I get that "no matching results found for the chosen criteria" ALONG WITH THAT *$#$ DING. Its not enough to get that message of not finding the patient, but to hear that ding is driving me crazy....especially with report after report of this same name mumbling man... ...
I think that is what they were called. The person who assisted our sup. Anyway, I really like my sup. But I never hear back from her when I email, I make edits in Teamwork and it still hasn't been done. I requested time off in Feb and it is still in request status. I have no hours listed for when I am supposed to work.
I miss having someone who sends out a backlog and responds to my emails within a day, sooner most of the time.

I work full-time in a clerical position. I don't really enjoy it but I make a decent living. I thought I would love typing for a living so I took the MT training from one of the best schools (expensive and labor intensive, as you all know), and got a p/t weekend job working for a MTSO. I quickly became jaded for the many reasons already discussed on this forum. I wasn't even making a babysitter's wage. I knew there was no way I could afford to quit my ...
I've never understood what dep was. I started with this company 3 years ago (then Medquest), and was told to put dep after my ID number to access something which I never understood. It always rejected my login under dep, and I was embarrassed at that time to contact Support, so I just never used it, whatever its purpose was. So, now that we apparently can't access it, I don't miss it. ...
I totally miss getting a huge snowstorm (like today in my area, 10 to 14 inches) and being able to call in to work to say "I can't make it in today... the roads are horrible"
I am trying hard to concentrate on work today, but all I want to do is call in to work, go outside and build a huge snowman, then shovel a little, and come in and make a huge mug of hot chocolate and watch it snow.
LET IT SNOW!!!! ...
I asked my TSM in an email but got no reply. I guess this was covered in the training, but I must have missed the part that explains why my line count in InScribe doesn't match the total under "Converted Line Detail" in WebClock for my weekly total. Anyone out there know? ...
Miss the old days when there were bonuses! 16 years ago old boss who had her own Transcription company hired someone to delivery Christmas tray with Santa in middle, surrounded by Christmas candy, with a bonus check for $50 on the tray. Those days are LOOOONNNNNNG GONE.
Let's put our Pollyanna glasses on for a minute and pretend our 37 million dollar CEO is going to give up one of his millions and divide it amongst us.

I have my first job ever with VR and absolutely hate it; I hardly make any money at it; get tired of constantly changing he to she, adding commas where the machine left them out; I feel like my talent of being a fast typist is being wasted. I might type 2-3 reports a night and of course they are always the shortest reports of the night! I am so glad I was in transcription at its heyday but those days are long gone as is my love and enthusiasm for this career that I have dedicated 38 years ...
I have recently quit my position with Spheris and want to know who to contact regarding getting our 401K or how to get a hold of this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! ...
Does any one know how long it takes to get your 401K after giving notice to MQ. I'm seriously contemplating getting out of here. Also, does any one know how Cobra is calculated. Thanks. ...
