My headphones have an extremely cord that keeps getting kinked. Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do to keep it from kinking?

I just pull mine out every week or so and let them dangle in circles (heaviest side down) until the thing is unkinked. If I don't do this, there's almost no point of return because they're "stuck" in kink mode. Only recourse then is to straighten each little section out manually and that's a lot of trouble.

I gather mine up so I have just enough slack in it, then take a rubberband (or right now I'm using a hair band) and wrap it. I usually end up sitting the bulk of the gathered cord on my lap while I work so the weight doesn't pull on the headset.

There are also these things you can get that look like a fish - they are used a lot for Ipods, etc, and wrap the cord but that kept unraveling for me so I went back to the band.

I wind it up near the plug-in doohicky on my desk, so the bulk sits on my desk, not on my lap.

I got this idea to braid from LifeHacker and it is what I did for my long headset cord.

I work for 96 physicians who (rightfylly so) expect the best and fastest quality transciption. However, when seen as a patient, I get the most horrid treatment (and fradulent) treatment possible (most most by clients.) I have been transcribing for 11 years and everytime I get a fasting talking dictator with an accent, it slows me down so much that it affects my production. I have slowed down the speed and added several expanders but that does not seem to help. Are there any tips or suggestions anyone has that can help? Thanks, Mel ...

I have been a transcriptionist for 15 years, all of which has been on Dictaphone EXText and now EXEditor. Why does my ESP in Dictaphone keep interfering? If I use an expansion and hit spacebar the ESP windows comes up, which makes no sense because ESP uses ctrl-ctrl to open? And how on earth do you learn it all? How will it benefit me after using thousands of ESPs daily. Help! ...
