I've been in the business 30 years and when I got my own accounts I rarely had bad dictators, so what has happened? I know ESL plays a role, but that can't be blamed for the majority of Causacian dictators who don't pronounced anything in the ROS or PE, just mumble on, or just say one word like "Respiratory" and leave it to us to read his mind. My guess is that they are passive-aggressively getting back at the bean counters who forced SR on them. The other possibility is that they speak trash and get back a perfect report so they think it is acceptable to mumble through their patients record without any concern for accuracy. Another thought was that they are so overburdoned with having to spend half the patient visit doing data entry, that they have to cut corners to get through the day. Dictator competency has done a 180 degree turn from the 80's and I would just like to know what "logic" these dictators use to justify their speech wrecks! Any ideas?
