A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
Dear Fellow transcriptionists:
My name is Suzie and I have been a medical transcriptionist for 10 years. I graduated from M-TEC in May 2001 and have only had 4 jobs in 10 years. I lost two jobs in one month and I am feeling like such a loser and my heart is wounded. I worked for Medware/iMedx for six years and got a 96.9% on my last quality review and I was told that as a independent contractor they could not keep me on; when asked if I could be on employee status they told me they were not hiring employee status. In the past I have always gotten a 98.9 or higher. They let me go and then I got a job with The Doctor's Helper and they gave me two weeks and told me that I was not catching on fast; to me it is because I have done speech for six years and then I had to do straight typing and missed two words.
Needless to say, I feel like a loser and I am very depressed. I work very hard and I give my heart and soul to my work. I am 54 years old and what is to become of me. I am planning on starting medical coding school at the Andrew's School in July and I want to be an independent contractor and then study for 3 hours.
I do not know what is going to become of me. I just want to succeed. I am 54. What a loser I am.
I am testing with other companies.
Thanks for listening.
Fondly,
Suzanne
