I got my very first VR job and I just really hadn't been able to make any money on it and by "not making any money" I mean just below minimum wage and just minimum wage on a GOOD day. I kept on pushing through, even though I wanted to quit on the very first day, and I finally got to where I was over minimum wage, but working my butt off for $8-9 per hour. I didn't like it too much, working that hard when I was used to making much more for much less work, but I decided it was the times of today, I would suck it up and go with the technological advances that we all have to deal with.
Well, just as quickly as I had come to terms wtih making that amount of money, my job starts checking my work and dinging me like crazy! The marks were for ridiculous punctuation, things left out that no way would a "normal eye" catch that. Also, very insignificant words that didn't affect the report, words that were questionably said at all. There were also a few marks that honestly I don't think I did that. I didn't argue or anything, as I have no way of seeing the uncorrected report, but we all know the types of mistakes we make if we aren't paying attention and those weren't mine.
Anyway, I just get the advice to SLOW DOWN. I slow down, drop back below minimum wage and everything is fine again, no problems. Is there any reason whatsoever that the MTSO wouldn't want me making money? That doesn't seem logical, because if I'm not making money, they aren't making money, but I wasn't due for a QA check or anything, they just automatically checked me when I increased my salary and now that I knocked it back down, all is quiet again, and honestly I would own up to my mistakes, but I really don't feel some of those mistakes were mine. Anybody else ever had this happen?
