So you don't even know if you half passed it, barely missed it or what, right? - sm

So that means all you know is, you didn't pass. You might think you did really well or really awful, but you don't really know if you are close to passing or not if you fail. Is that right?
In my case, I always think the worst about myself, so I would assume that I failed it miserably. Someone else who always believes they do better than they really do, and I know people like that, may have failed badly but believe that they just missed by maybe a question or two.
I wish they would give a number so you would know whether it's worth it to try again or if you need to go back and get a better education before you spend that time and money again.
Regardless, it is a credentialing exam. You have to take it on their terms if you want the credential. You have to do what everybody else did to get it. Given that the failure rate is so high, that turns out to be doing a lot.

Yes, they tell you what you got and the percentages corresponding to different areas.
I got a total of 288 and missed passing it by just 12 points on my first try.
You need 300 out of 400 to pass.
First, I was warned about low line count during a period of many MQ computer problems (finally got new one and now resolved), then audited during that same time period after being warned about line count, which I passed at 99.89%. Then 2 weeks later I start getting a work type I had never done before, like every other job, completely new terms and docs, which normally I do not mind learning new things, but now with the more-than-5%-sent-to-QA nonsense I do not feel comfortable sending blanks to ...
Talking about an area of oozing that was dripping into the surgical site. Said dripping 3 times.

3. SR = "draping"
Three chances, three air balls.
(SR = "hair balls", of course.)

As I mentioned earlier I keep getting badgered, first for dropping percentage on FIESA, then for production. One of the things that bothers me, lately I keep getting more and more of those same dictators that I make the most mistakes on. It's almost like they want me to fail? Is that paranoia or just the elephant in the room trying to sit on me and no one notices? I am on an enormous account. I realize they can narrow work down to some degree but with literally 100s of clinics on this ...
It just seems like we cannot win with this company. Between the 5% QA, bottom of the barrel dictators, and unrealistic expectations I just want to pull my hair out. ...
I beileve it's when the company advertising closes the hiring process but doesn't let us know. For fun, I just went to an older ad and went through the testing process. I KNOW I aced it, but it told me I didn't have the skills necessary. I also KNOW that the job hiring process was closed, but did it just as an experiment.
So those of you who are so hard on yourselves, don't be. I truly now think it's because the company has closed the hiring proc ...
Last year I failed an audit, barely and was out on 100% QA for 6 weeks after 1 email from TSM and no responses afterwards until suddenly I was off and back to regular work. Later I was transferred to another TSM. Wednesday I got an email that after multiple complaints from a specific doctor, all his reports were 100% QA and my report had failed the audit (barely). Nothing from TSM yet, but I am off Sunday and Monday. I wish I could quit so bad, but can't afford it. If I get fired and apply ...
I just cannot seem to get my line count up no matter what I do. I have an account that I am doing for the UK and it is a struggle. Being bounced around to a new BOB every 2 months or less does not help. I have got my second warning about my line count, never had this problem before. Oh well, maybe getting fired is not such a bad thing though. ...
Does anyone have a clue about the pass/fail that is in Fiesa today? Just noticed mine and I suppose it has something to do with the changes rolling out but I couldn't remember if we had received anything about it or not. Thanks! ...
I know that the tests given by MTSOs are from mttest.com and that they are pass/fail tests. Does anyone know what the passing percentage is? One strike, you're out? How does this work?
Thanks. ...
Here is a link to the pass/fail rates for AHIMA certification exams.
http://www.ahima.org/certification/documents/2007_2009_CertificationExamPassRates.pdf
Please note that even AHIMA itself recommends a minimum of 3 years of hospital coding experience before attempting the CCS exam, and they have good reason for doing so. The test is very challenging. Yes, people may pass without that experience, but most will not. This is not an inexpensive exam, either. The fig ...
Please. What a crock. 20+ years experience, and I'm referred to a matchbook school.
mttest can suck it. If that's what WordMed.Biz trusts to screen potential employees, then I don't think I'd trust them as an employer.
and their red-hot screaming wage of .07 CPL. Yeah... ...
I took the Medquist test again today, but I don't expect the perfection they seem to demand. I actually got an RLP (real live person) at Medquist to speak to me about testing 2 weeks ago. She was a little help. She said they have 1,000 take the test monthly so no wonder they are not interested in any particular transcriptionist. I suspect, though, that only 20/1000 pass it. I actually worked for Mx for 7 years part-time, and I love their platform.

I admit I made a mistake. I forgot to add a cc. Never mind that all the other jobs that were audited were 100%. I am only human but Mmodal does not care. ...
I had 2 jobs that were both 100 and then I had a failed job on some account that I have never typed on before ~ foreign doctor. The errors were marked as noncritical errors. How can they expect us to be able to type 100 different accounts with perfect quality? I remember this report that I "failed." There were no samples to go by. I guess I will be getting an email from my supervisor shortly about failing a job and making me feel ...
Is Transtech one of those companies that doesn't bother to contact you if you fail their test? Or do they eventually let you know one way or the other? It has been a couple of weeks since I have tested and haven't heard a peep. ...
Contracts are renegotiated regularly, so even if you were on an account that did not permit offshoring at any point in the past, you will sign in one day and discover WTs missing that you used to type and can watch whole blocks of reports disappear from your queue.
Nuance's survival depends upon this, and they don't care diddly squat about yours.
So, dream on...and on...and on about line rates, bonuses being easier to get because of less nitpicking, etc., it isn't going to ...
Doing a report for a counseling and recovery center. Dr. says....
AIIMS exam showed mild involuntary movement of upper extremities and t____ assessment.
Is it AIMS exam or Ames exam. I am also unsure of the blank, it sounds like it starts with the letter T. Thank you Thank you in advance! ...
I just got offered a new job with a local transcription company. I'll be making more money, no set hours, get the work done when I want to get it done as long as it is done by the next day. The interviewer actually looked at me confused saying "if you are getting paid by productivity, why do you have set hours to work?" I had no answer.....anyhoo, the only draw back is that I have to purchase my own equipment....why am I still hesitant to leave MQ? My only explanation I have is after ...
Okay, so I finally actually got an hour's worth of my "primary" - an account I know like the back of my hand....In the past, I KNOW after working so many years on this account almost EXACTLY how much I can make in 1 full hour of working nonstop, no interruptions, etc....
So, I did the same hour, same account, and in the past I made about 10 bux more per hour doing this same work. So something is fishy. It can't be ALL because of the new DQS 6.1 issues.......I can ...
I am a new grad and had a phone screen with MedQuist last week. They seemed all gung-ho about hiring me until the phone screen. After that I got an email that said my background did not match their needs.
I'm wondering what I did to change things. The only thing I can think of is that I said part time. Maybe they wanted me to say full time???
I am really in need of a job-any job. I was thinking they were going to be my best luck. Now I'm really worried I won't find anything soon ...
I really need feedback on this. I have been an MT for over 25 years. I am still pretty young (middle age). I have nothing wrong with me physically or mentally. Yet, I hate my job! I have a job with a bigger MTSO, but I am getting less and less in my pay b/c my main account runs out of work often and I get the secondary which is not easy on demographics, and has bad dictators. This is a job which is an employee job and it looks like my pay is decreasing weekly a ...
Months ago when I first started researching this line of work I found myself on this forum, and a few others, and I was somewhat put off by the widely negative view of the profession. There was so much complaining about how difficult it was, how meager the compensation is, etc. I thought so many of you were just being pessimistic- to put it politely. I thought to myself, "It's just sitting here typing all day. I do that already! How cool would it be to get payed for it!"
And today? Today I ...
OK..So a doctor dictates something, usually it is initials for something like I just had OU tele unit,,what the heck is that?? So me I go searching because I always like to verify things I know I heard them say but personally have never heard of it..That goes for everything drug names, conditions, etc. Should I just be typing exactly what they say and to heck with it if it is wrong? Kind of like one boss from an old company said garbage in garbage out?? Im a perfectionist ...
I am currently per-diem with a company that requires per-diems to work 2 holidays a year and we have to phone in to beg for work (0.7 cpl) BUT we are not included in any bonuses or the holiday gift card because we are only per-diems. We make money for the company and are reimbursed at a pauper's rate with no other benefits but we aren't even included in a tiny holiday gift card. Feels like a huge slap in the face. Is it even legal to require a "per-diem" with no guara ...
So, I lost my job. First, they went AWOL for 4 work days. I sat at my computer for 8 hours every one of those days, no work, nobody answering me. Finally, they called and said they were terminating employment due to "low line counts".
I found that funny since my line counts improved since the first month of employment, and at my lowest line count during that time, they gave me a raise and said how great I was doing. It was only after I told them to pay me minimum wage that they suddenly ...
