thought about applying to TransTech - Pauline
Posted: Nov 21, 2011
I have thought about applying to TransTech. Then I noted on their website the MTTest Site that lots of seasoned MTs have taken, myself being one of them and I have over 32 years acute-care experience and failed. Any opinions on taking it once again? Need a job like lots of MTs and I love to do OP reports. For any TransTech MTs, do they have any straight typing or is it straight and or VR editing?

I am one of the "seasoned" MTs with over 40 years in this business. My work is over 95% VR, which is what most of the MTs with TT are doing now. We do not get much straight typing and there are a lot of foreign doctors too. OP reports only go to those who are well skilled in that field. Out pay for VR is 1/2 of that for straight typing. So say you get 8 cpl for straight typing, you get 4 for VR. I took the test and did well on it, sometimes tests are not something some people can do, even if you have had a lot of experience. Good luck.

I took the test and had no problem with it and was hired on. I have mostly VR. Nice company but I kept running out of work and some days had no work. I left a few weeks back. Good luck to you
Same here, the test was never an issue, but the lack of work - was what sent me running, sm

after only a month of working. I had no desire to flex everyday to see if I could make up lines because the schedule that they hired me on for had no work.
And that constant daily flexing leaves all MTs without work - BTDT

I liked the company, decent benefits, etc., but the constant lack of work was beyond ridiculous. Every day having to "flex" (or, worse yet, being told you CANNOT flex and instead must sit waiting for jobs that never come through, all while NOT being paid) got old...really fast. I was barely able to maintain the minimums just to keep my insurance. I finally decided insurance was a luxury at this point and ran far, far away to a small MTSO that doesn't have insurance...but DOES have ample work, minimal ESLs and straight transcription.
I was with TT for nearly five years. I have no idea what happened to all of the work because I was still on the same accounts. I even tried changing shifts, etc., all to no avail. It seemed everyone was so busy flexing that we were all fighting over a fistful of jobs in the end and never a response or explanation to why.
(And for those of you wondering, yes, I did indeed have a primary account, 2 backup accounts, AND even changed my shift to chase work)

I applied last week, was really excited about their advertised production incentive pay. Have been doing this for over 30 years, always 99% or better on my quarterly QA evaluations. Failed the test with the notation that I needed more training.

I took the test too and got the "need more training" response. I have 20 years experience, formal education and MT certficiation?? Maybe they are trying to giving Career Steps a "step up"?

Applying For Job Jan 10, 2011Okay, this is somewhat of a strange situation. I have been looking for a job in the field that I was in prior to becoming an MT 11 years ago, which would be a full-time position with benefits. Currently I am IC. I had lost my previous job due to downsizing and the office/company that I worked for basically closed it's Wisconsin branch except for a handful of employees. I just found out that one of the employees at this small Wisconsin branch of the company that I use ...
When Applying For A New MT Job... Dec 27, 2013...and taking a transcription test, is it wise to type verbatim even if there are errors or try to clean it up? Done Applying For MT Jobs Apr 10, 2012I need to write this for my own sake. I can no longer apply or test for these company positions. I am being rejected in one way or another by all of them. I have done this for going on 30 years. I can't take it anymore. It is so very very painful to deal with this. I think in my heart I have given up finding any MT position or any job at this point in my life. All I do is get angry, cry, throw things. Applying For Positions Jul 21, 2013Does anyone ever simply e-mail a resume to a company rather than completing the long, drawn out application they want filled out when you click the link to apply? Be Very Careful When Applying To SoftScript Dec 05, 2009Be very careful when applying to SoftScript. They have many openings but I have applied, when through the testing, got an interview, but they never called and when trying to find answers they never respond.
