Hi. I worked for Soft Script a couple of years ago. Great company to work for. I needed a little more flexibility in schedule due to elderly parents care. Otherwise I would still be there. Good to work for, pay on time. Great company.

Did you have to go to NJ for 2 days to train? - Is that SS?

I can't ever quite recall if it's SS that requires that or another similar-sounding company.

Worst place I ever worked and lots of MTs agree - me

with me. Lots of posts in the archives. They have a very high turnover rate, which is why they are constantly hiring and have plenty of work. I can't speak for all the accounts, but my accounts were horrendous. ESL and worst sound quality I've ever had. Pay is average, but too low for the work I had.

I've seen several positive posts lately and can't help but wonder if they are made by management.

Very good company. Pay on time. Lots of work. My biggest gripe is strict schedule. Management is tolerable but at least do not have to deal with them daily.

Where is the Soft Script ad? - BlindAsBat?

Has anyone said that was not enough and have them counter offer with more? Why dont they just start asking us to work for free! At that rate I dont even think you make minimum wage! This is obviously not even because of outsourcing. I think what has happened is that a lot of work has gone overseas, but the remaining work that the transcription companies are getting is still paying a half-ways decent rate but they have taken a small cut to keep them. We were out of TAT once last week and since then if there are more than 2 (well maybe I am exaggerating here) jobs in the pools they open up OT. Everyone needs to make money, so of course many of us come in and work. Understandable. I am new to the MTSO thing. IC for 10 years and bought my own health insurance. It was $242.00 a month, and I let it go a few months ago after losing my job. Now I am being offered by my employer an HSA plan for around the same amount or a PPO plan for around $300.00. (this is them paying 60% and me paying 40% and that is what it equals??)
