Want change but scared of it - notarisktaker

Started job searching...sick of company with low pay and inflexibility that is getting worse with time. Now that job offers/testing offers are pouring in I am getting cold feet. Don't want to jump from frying pan into fire. Anybody ever been through this? Words of advice?

I took a PT position with a new company to get the feel of it. It is hard working both jobs, but worth it.

If you are truly sick of your old job, make the best informed decision you can, take a deep breath and jump in.

Remember, it is not like you are chosing to have quadruple amputations, you are just getting another job. If this one doesn't fit the bill, there are others out there.

It took me a while to make the jump, but I am so glad I did. Good luck to you too.

Kind of feeling so-so about changing jobs, just in the testing and interview phase now, but security addict about describes it. Scares me to think about jumping into another crummy situation.

I just take a deep breath and remind myself that just because I starting working with one company doesn't mean they are still a good fit and that I owe them the rest of my life. There is a better place for me, and I'll bet there's a better one for you too! Take a chance and best of luck!

when you're used to a company. I'm kind of one of those change-averse people. I was in a financial situation where it was kind of like jumping out of a plane with a parachute - it didn't seem appealing until I realized the plane was going down and the pilot had already bailed.

Hang in there! Like others have said, nothing's permanent. Try a new place, and if not a good fit, move on. The companies are doing what's in their best interest - no reason we can't do the same!

I have been at my company for almost 2 years and the work just keeps drying up. I sent my resume to a company, took the test and got hired, all within 3 days. I will probably start next week when I get some new software that I need. It already pays more than what I am making and there is incentive pay, which I do not have at my present employer and some benefits for part-timers!! If I can do it in my 60s, you can do. Jump in and go for it.

but I am having to change jobs because my current job is going bye-bye. I am SO HAPPY with my current job...very small company, flexibility, awesome boss, good pay...but she is losing my account to voice recognition and that account is using some other company to handle the editing. So she is having to let me go when the account makes the change in a couple of months. I have been in panic mode ever since. :(

as an MT with only my income. I live at a place where I don't have to pay any household bills right now. But I want to move out. It's not a good place for me to be living. I plan to get an apartment in about 5 months. I am just scared I won't be able to support myself. i can get an apartment for about $400 to 700 dollars. We had management changes over the weekend for my new account and the new manager sent out e-mails today that we have to get new e-mails, must start using some probably crap butt IM program (I HATE IM!) and they insist that if your account runs out of work that you wait 10 minutes, then e-mail them then wait up to 15 minutes to see if they can find you some work before you can move to your secondary if that account has work. Meanwhile that means 25 minutes of no pay time waiting around for ...

They always have in the past. Medquist/Secrephone merge became MRC Group. Then MRC Group and Transcription Limited became Medquist. Since Spheris was bankrupt and every one knows Medquist and they were number 1 and number 2 big companies, I am wondering if they would change their name.
