WMX ISR proficiency report - sm

Posted: Dec 05, 2010

Well, this is my first report and there are no other words for it, I suck.  I knew I probably went to bathroom, got coffee, let dog in and out, changed laundry loads too  much while on the clock, but I still got LPH/hours in.  Did not know I was off that much.

Needless to say, I will be studying those CBTs.

The phase I and II training sessions ??? Was phase I our initial training and we have another session to go or is this something different.

I am not ready to give up yet, get my first check with ISR reduced pay on it this  payperiod.  Will study CBTs and hopefully learn a few tips to help me.

Am beginning to think I am too old to learn new tricks, but I am not dead yet.

No, phase I and phase II come after your initial training session. - see message

Hang in there, it'll get better. I felt the same as you when I first started, but you'll see progress. The phase I and II classes really helped a lot.

Don't give in yet! I won't say my age, but I have been in transcription 30+ years, and really really did NOT want to do ISR. I already used all the keystrokes and did not use the mouse, so personally I felt most of phase I was wasted, BUT if you can pick up even 1 or 2 new things and implement them, it will help. I picked up in that session Shift + delete to delete the sentence from where your cursor is. That helped tremendously!

Last night I watched the CBTs on community page and picked up a few more tips (and I thought I knew it all LOL). It feels really awkward at first, and I was horrible at first too, but now after a year on ISR I am at about 280 to 300 LPH. Sometimes it goes up to 350 when I don't have to research or make a ton of edits, then I get that occasional dictator that should NOT be ISR that I wring my hands over and my line count plummets. Overall though I do maintain the above line count. It took me a year to get here. Try to learn one new thing a week and implement it, and you will see a gradual difference!

Thank you for encouragement. I will go over those CBTs tonight after the grandkids go home.

Gosh, I remember years ago when I first was learning PRD Plus (kind of like an old time Shorthand) and I would put 5 new ones up on a sticky every few days until I had them comfortably incorporated.

I think having all my accounts on the new versions will help (when it happens). Going back and forth doesn't do my old grey cells any good either.

Once again, thanks for tips. I will use them.

Production/proficiency

Got a split report.  Never get them.  Had forgotten what I learned in the 6.1 update so had to find it on MQ Central and re-listen to the blessed instructions.  Took forever as it won't let you fastforward to the part of the instructional that you need.  Don't guess their keystroke monitoring cares about that, nor the time I wasted having to do it (yet again).  ...

DQS Proficiency-Productivity Emails ????

First of all I wonder why I'm getting this email from "Sandra" at my personal email and not my work email???? Anyone else getting these and understand what it is about?  Telling us exactly how many times we clicked the mouse, etc?  Does anyone have any idea as to what they think they want to accomplish doing this?  I know they SAY they want to help us be more "productive" and increase ASR productivity, but I'm skeptical.  Thoughts?      ...

ASR Proficiency Statistics - So Much Wrong With This!
Nov 16, 2012

I scored low in everything - key strokes, playback speed, editing while audio is playing, etc. Everything they advise plays havoc with accuracy!!!! If I did what they advise me to, I would flunk an audit so bad. I might as well just read the document and edit what looks wrong. Nevermind that reading the document won't do any good because ASR leaves out text, adds text, puts in wrong numbers in the labs, etc. ...
