Transcend..opinions wanted - mecmt

I just received an email stating Transcend would like to hire me and they are going to call me to go over a deal. Does anyone know anything about this company, are they good to work for? I figure anything has to be better than the Q. Thanks!

You should peruse the archives because Transcend is on here so much I get tired of seeing their name. Good things have been said about them plus bad things, so it must depend on who you get as a TL, etc. It seems as though they have some who are happy to work for Transcend, but others who have nothing good to say about them.

It seemed to me, when the company I worked for was eaten by Transcend, that they were using MQ's playbook and attempting to be a second MQ. I quit shortly thereafter. Just my two cents' worth.

questions, answer the telephone, answer e-mails, or provide any information, so you are always out on a limb if you have a problem. They will post a lot of links on facebook and twitter for your reading pleasure, like we had time for that. But don't even consider asking questions about insurance, payroll, or policies. If you get an answer, it will be so convoluted that it would take a genius to figure it out.

My problem was I was doing an all transcription account, and it was 90% ESL doctors, and when I was trying to learn them some reports would take me a while to do. Then when I had filled out my time card I would get contacted by my supervisor who would tell me that there were reports that took longer than they should have, and that I should take the lines, figure out what it would take if I was doing 150 lines an hour, and then put that time down on my report, even though I had spent much more time on those reports, not being familiar with that doctor's accent. It seemed kind of shady and not exactly legal. I mean, I knew I wasn't going to make much until I got up to speed but I didn't excpet them to ask me to alter my time card to meet their expectations. I still might have kept it up there though until I got up to speed if I had not needed to earn money to live on. The trainer/supervisor i worked with was great and they did seem to be a good company, with benefits after 3 months (although only if you made your quota for 3 months, which makes it not such a certainty).

I had the same problem when I worked there. They asked me three different times to adjust my time, which I refused to do. I always kept track of my time, breaks, etc, and was not trying to rip them off. I also had bad ESL and somedays were harder than others. If they don't like that, then they need to figure something out, but I made them pay me for time worked. It is because they want to make sure you are hitting minimum wage, which they have to do by law, and by fixing your time they make sure they don't have to fill in the money blanks.

I don't work there anymore, but I did always have plenty of work to do. Pay is horrible, but they all are now. My team lead was fantastic but my ROM was a bully and a witch. I would think about working for them again if I had a different ROM, otherwise it certainly wasn't worth the headache. However, I do believe they are probably one of the best in the industy for a big MTSO and there was always plenty of work when I was there (just resigned a month ago).

I'm totally getting burned out at MQ. If it's not the NJA with requests to change schedule, then it's the lack of primary and getting other unknown accounts slowing me down. This Asian doc is dictating an EEG report. He says: "There is high amplitude delta [probably waves/activity] that is associated with s/l clef seizure or right arm movements."
