Transcend and windows 7, question for - MTs who might s/m

Posted: Jan 04, 2010

be able to give me some answers.  I cufrently have to make a decision about whether or not to purchase a computer with windows 7.  I now work for MDI/Transcend, and the Bayscribe platform works fine with Windows 7.  However, after the formal transition to Transcend, I have no guarantee that I will still only be working with Bayscribe, and I suspect that at some point I will have to work with VR.  I would like to know what VR platform Transcend uses, are there more than 1, depending on the client?  Same question with transcription accounts, are there many different platforms depending on the client?  Does anyone who works for Transcend use Windows 7 with any of their platforms?  I am asking questions now because I have to make a decision very soon.

Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to share what they know.

Transcend using eScription for much (all?) of its VR. I don't work - there, but I use Windows 7 for eScription at my co

I do not know if you can have Bayscribe and eScription on the same computer. I would honestly suggest speaking with a Transcend tech person; it's a big decision to make without specific input from them.

Windows 7 doesn't work with the platform they installed for me. - PJ

Vista 32-bit (not 64-bit) will work but does not work as well as XP Pro. Any more, though, you will have to buy a refurbished computer to get XP Pro or else ask for a downgrade when you make your purchase.

I recently bought a refurb and have been very happy with it. Laptop only cost me $299 with free shipping, and I love it. I figured at that price, if it dies on me in a couple of years, I can afford to get another one. I had bought a refurb in the past that lasted 8 years without any problems whatsoever. It probably would have lasted longer, but I got rid of it because of upgrading to better equipment.

Purchased brand new computer with XP installed - L

Bought just about 4 months ago and asked that XP be installed. Pain extra but then that is what I wanted to have on mine. Heard Vista had a lot of issues beforehand.

What platform did they install for you? sm - Wondering

Do they use different platforms for different accounts?

Transcend/BeyondTx, And Windows 7
Mar 06, 2010

I am going to be switching to BeyondTx very soon.  I have windows 7 (64 bit) and Office 7.  I have read on the tech board that there may be compatibility issues between 64 bit windows 7 and other platforms.  Anyone work at Transcend who uses BeyondTx with windows 7 64 bit, office 7, without problems?  I have another computer that is being repaired that has Windows XP and Office 2003 (I assume), as I have never needed to use office when working in Bayscribe, which I did for ma ...

Windows 7 And Using Windows XP Mode
Aug 05, 2011

Has anyone ever wanted to work for a company that only used Windows XP and you had Windows 7 but could virtually move to XP mode?  Could you download their software on the XP mode side and get it to work?  I had a job interview where their software only worked on XP.  I thought I could do that, but I had to also have Word 2003.  I only have 2010, but it has the compatability pack for 2003, BUT the client's software couldn't differentiate that.  If I maybe bough ...

Anyone Use DQS On Windows 7 Yet?
Dec 16, 2009

I want to go to my parents house this weekend for Christmas and I have to work.  They live about 4 hours away so I was just going to take my foot pedal with me and download DQS on my dad's computer.  He is nerd so he has this really cool computer so I am not worried about DQS not running on it or anything.  I was just wondering about how DQS runs with windows 7.  I would figure it would just run the same since it is internet based.  I just would hate to not be able ...

Windows 7 64-bit OS And DQS 6.1
Sep 20, 2010

I have read other posts on this site with respect to this subject but just wondering if anyone using Windows 7 is able to use DQS 6.1 64-bit OS with it. Every machine you purchase comes preloaded with it and I want to buy a new machine but if Windows 7 64-bit doesn't work properly, I won't even bother yet. I heard from support that is unsure right now as they are still working on other things, i.e., problems with 6.1.   Thanks for your input!   ...

Windows 7 -- 64-bit And 32-bit
Nov 22, 2010

Can maybe someone answer my question. I purchased a new computer last year with the new Windows 7 home premium operating system. For the Internet Explorer, I have two icons, one on my desktop that strictly says 64-bit, plus there is an IE icon at the bottom of my toolbar that uses 32-bit for some sites (I think because Adobe Flash Player is not compatible with 64-bit OS, is what I was told by an HP tech person). Some companies advertising on the Job Seeker board says can use Windows 7, 32- ...

Windows 8 And DQS
Jan 08, 2013

Just an FYI to anyone thinking of purchasing a laptop, I saw where previously it was stated that Windows 7 programs should work with Windows 8.  That's not true with DQS 7.1.  It will not load with Windows 8.  Support confirmed this, as did my CSM.  After I actually bought it, of course.  If anyone knows a work-around that would make DQS load onto it, please let me know. ...
