WOW is all I can say! Worked a few weeks and now.....we are out of a job. The account manager was awesome but it was not the acct manager that lost the account - it was the company itself.

I had been there about 6-7 months, but I sensed something was "up," when we went from feast to famine. TC sent out several emails, asking for help, but I guess too many people decided not to work and try to get the account caught up. The biggest problem was in the fact that we were not meeting turnaround time and there were very careless mistakes being made and this was as per both TR and TC. It was a great opportunity while it lasted and those weekly checks were great, but thanks to a few people who apparently had what they thought to be more important priorities, that opportunity now is gone with the wind.

Aero waited until the last minute to hire more MTs but by then it was too late. The writing was on the wall for a looooong time. With the competition for clients nowadays, Aero's owner and her friends in management dropped the ball on this one. In the process they messed with a lot of MTs' livelihoods. They should've known how to handle it way earlier than they did. It's like the owner and her friends in management have no clue how to run this type of business. Sad, sad, sad.

Well, I personally don't blame the account manager on this one. She did all she could to keep the account going strong and keeping the account. It was the upper management who didn't get enough staff in time to get the work completed in TAT. Oh well....life goes on...and I look for another job. The few months I was there were great.

I'm not sure how many of you whom had recently been hired by Aero decided to read "the company background." TR is the daughter of the people that founded the company and they were killed last year in a car accident. TR's brother was involved in the company and I believe that the only "non-relative" was MC. TR herself, just gave birth to a baby towards the end of March, so she has more than had her hands full. They do have other accounts, but those accounts were already fully staffed.
Believe me, I was just as shocked as everyone else, but when the workload went down drastically, I felt something rotten was going on and I am not saying with this company. You have to realize as well, that the company had no control over when people could start. Everything was done through the Hospital IT Department. I was in a panic last week, because I have had SEVERAL companies in the recent past that have either been bought out or folded for one reason or another. Luckily, I started working for a smaller national service on Wednesday and so far, so good.
Again, and I am going to reiterate this, it was no fault of the account manager and maybe TR herself did not truly realize the volume that would be involved, but we as MTs SHOULD have pulled together to make sure TATs were met, which they were not. I remember TC sending me a recent IM, asking me to do STATs because no one else was on at that time, and she had an emergency situation so was not available either.
This is why so many companies now, even if they are advertising for ICs, are asking for some kind of schedule. They want to know when people would truly be available to work. I worked most weekends and usually only one or two other people were on, so take that into consideration as well as to why the account went to another service.

If they had MTs not working then get rid of them and get people actually willing to work. Don't wait for months to do it. There are more than enough MTs out there willing to work these days. To hear Aero tell it, it's always someone else's fault for why this happened. Having babies, personal issues, busy schedules, feeling under the weather, the hospital's fault, the MTs fault. Hopefully this will open Aero's eyes to the fact that they can't run a good business like that. Obviously. So stop placing blame on everyone and everything else, Aero. Excuses, excuses. Learn from it. You're going to need to if you're going to stay in this business or any other business.

A Day Without Transcription?
