I want to say thank you very much to the company I work at for sending me the gift of candy. It was an extremely pleasant surprise in my mailbox today. You are the best for sure!

Or, they can do what they did when I won the "cookie/candy" tower during MT week, and that's deduct my prize from my pay check.

This past MT week, I won the cookie/candy tower which included several different boxes of goodies. You can imagine my shock when the $30 was deducted from my next pay check itemized as "cookie/candy tower". The sucky part is that it's been on the Year-to-Date line of all my pay stubs so it's right there in front of my face every time I open my pay stubs as a reminder of why I despise this company so much. All I can say is THANK GOD I didn't win the TV.

I am really sorry this happened to you. But it sounds exactly like something these people would do. As I have said before, I am not particularly religious, but I DO believe in KARMA and I can hardly wait for MQ's to catch up to them. When it hits, they are going to have to pay up bigtime.

but this is just horrible. Years ago I won an MP player worth about $150 MSRP. Thank goodness they did not charge me for it; I would have sent it back to them. So sorry this happened to you.

I'm no lawyer, but I am not sure if it is even LEGAL for them to deduct for your prize. If you "won" it, you should not have to pay. Might not hurt to ask a real lawyer.

IMHO, LM is the nicest company I have ever worked for. Such a change from the Q, where I worked before. :(- (I could not support my family at the Q, plus of which it was just a generally nasty place. LM is a refreshing change.)

I (and my family) am also very happy with this gift. I really do like working for LS and appreciate their generosity at Christmas. (I have hidden the lovely chocolate bars from my son!)

I was reading this thread, all happy for you guys and wondering which company you worked for. Two people said LS, which I do not recognize. Two people said LM, which I presume is Landmark.

So which is it, LM or LS? Or are these two different companies that both sent out candy for Christmas gifts to their employees?

I got my MLS weak (pun intended) gift. Actually, I kind of like it. I do keep a note pad on my desk and jot things down while I work...not always work related, but hey! It seems more useful than the leather mousepad I got from Spheris years ago. I would have prefered a cash bonus or some free PTO, but they probably got a deal on the thousands of these gifts that they ordered and the actual cost to them was minimal. Does anyone else find it odd that there is a job posting and the email is for some gift basket designer or whatever. Just when I think things can't get any worse..... I received a beautiful Christmas card in the mail and inside was a VISA card from Transcend wishing me a Merry Christmas and the card even says "thank you" on it! I wasn't expecting that. I've only been with them a little over a month! I'm even more impressed with them now. I got a calendar last year from my previous employer. That was nice, but this is even better. My $13 prepaid Discover card came in the mail as thanks for not slitting my wrists while training on a new platform. I tried to use my giftcard today and it was refused. It was give by transcend, a visa giftcard, and it was refused when i tried to use it. I didn't see anything that came with it saying it had to be authorized or anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have an authorization number i can call to authorize my card? Suggestions?
