TTS pay. Does line count add up fast? - wannaknow

They say they pay for everything but does that mean the cents per line is lower? If you have a good production platform, it will make all the difference in the world. Can anyone tell me about what they average per hour (in dollars) and with what type of platform it is (easy? lines add up fast)? I really want to work there but I can't take a cut in pay.

I worked there until May of this year and making 3 cpl for SR does not a paycheck make. My checks kept going down so I don't know how you will make a living on that. The SR was horrible, and so were the managers and the supervisors.

I read the post above where the person was making 3 cpl and I made more than that myself. I just quit about 2 weeks ago. It depends on the account and which platform you use. I used Escription and I understand that Dictaphone pays more. I think also if you are a CMT they pay more for that. I would talk to them first before you actually say no. Curious why you want to work there, as you said you really wanted to work there. Do you know someone there? Anyhow, check it out directly with who hires you because of these variables.

think that what you make per hour depends on what you put into it. I am on an account that is OVERFLOWING with work right now and they are offering up extra work every single day right now. So, the potential to make money is there. I think that TTS is a great company to work for and I have yet to have one of the "nasty" manager or supervisor encounters that you will unfortunately read about on here often. I enjoy my job with TTS and hope that I can stay there for years to come.

I work there now and so far, the managers have been great, but the pay is crap. I do get good feedback, but sometimes questions go unanswered. Just like anywhere else, there are some great folks who work there and some not so great. It's okay if you don't really need to work because what they pay won't pay the bills. Good luck.

How are the health benefits? They state they have United Health which is typically a good thing? Are they attainable?

Thank you for the reply. The health insurance looks like the best I have yet to see in this industry. When comparing it with what it cost an individual w/o being with a company, the rates aren't so bad, if ya know what I mean.

Not the OP but I'm not sure what you mean, you just work your usual 8 or 10 hours or whatever it may be and anything over that is your extra, you don't log anything... as to overtime, no there's no overtime pay, who pays overtime anymore?! If you find someone, let me know !

I also work at TTS, and I really enjoy working for them. I have been in the business for 15 years, and I have seen it all! Everyone I have worked with has been extremely nice and always professional. There is always work for me, and they have been offering extra work lately. I hope to be working for TTS for many years to come. TTS by far has been the best place I have worked for in 15+ years.

I was just hired on with a company to do strictly VR. I am only going to be working part time so about 4 hours a day. I am wondering from those who do VR what kind of line production should I shoot for in 4 hours of work? What is the normal VR line count for part time? I have read that most who are working full time or 8 hours a day are doing more than 1,000, even 2,000 a day. Is this correct? I type 70,000 characters a day. I am paid by the 65 character line so I would divide 70,000 by 65 to get 1076, then multiple that by pay per line, say $.10 and get $107. If this is not correct then what is the formula? And what is the average number of lines per day? Thanks so much for the info. ...

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the easiest way to not count template lines when trying to invoice? I get a line count through Word, but I hear that Word counts blank spaces as well. I downloaded and use Flash Count, but it includes all 65 character lines, I beleive including the template headings. I hope this makes sense. Please help!! ...

I have been working for this company for about 18 month and so far so good. It was even bought out by a bigger company and everything stayed the same with no problems. They don't bother me, I do my work and everything is fine. I have been told that I need to increase my LPH. So last night I kept track of the lines of each document done by using MS Word. But later when I compared it to Nuance's line tracker (ichart) it only listed half the lines that MS Word listed. How can this be? I realized that Word my count blank lines, but how can there possibly be that much difference? So far, I have calculated the "count score" on Fluency at the new rate of 0.08/.048 vs per report rate. I 'lost' on average $165-175 per pay period over the past 3 months by the line count. My report rates are currently 1.20/.072. Anyone else? Please share. Also, the 'count score' is our line count, right?? ...

I used to do 250-275 lph fairly easily. Lately, I am typing as fast and furious as ever and struggle to get above 200 lph. Not sure what is going on, but I'm pretty sure it ain't me. Is it typical to only receive a percentage of your edited lines because "editing is faster and better" than straight transcription? I am new to VR, but this seems odd to me. What in the heck does .05 for every 43 black characters equal out to. It doesn't sound good but I'm no math whiz. Maybe, I'm missing something and who pays like that.
