Synernet being investigated by the DOL - AMT

Well, it looks like the karma train has finally come for Synernet! I received a letter in the mail this morning from the US Department of Labor Wage & Hour Division stating that they are performing an investigation and they want me to call them. Did anyone else get one of these gems in the mail? I'm getting ready to call them in a few minutes.

I would hope the DOL would investigate Scruance, too. I believe they are the ones who started the wage theft and shady business practices.

I just called and left a voicemail for the investigator, so he should be calling me back shortly. This is the second company I have worked for who was investigated by the DOL. I actually got a pretty decent check a few months ago as a result of the investigation of the other company that I used to work for. Synernet was definitely a horrible company to work for and I hope they now will have to pay for the way they treat their employees and their sweat shop practices!

If you have a legitimate complaint, you need to call the state where the company is located. They don't just go around investigating companies without a good reason.

I just got off the phone with the DOL and the guy said that everyone's stories about Synernet and their illegal practices have been very consistent across the board. He said it looks like there will be definite back wages owed and, if they refuse to pay, they will be taken to court. Can we just take a moment to embrace this sweet justice?!?!?

I have been there over 3 years and have not received a letter. I have been checking every day just hoping one would be there so I could have my chance to tell, too.

Call the DOL... email one who has been contacted and ask if they will give you the contact info so you can see if you can be added. Be proactive!!

The good, the bad and the ugly, if they were "smart", they would be forthcoming to ALL employees about what is going on. Common sense, but this company does not have any. Everything is a secret. Makes people even more skeptical who work here and makes others NOT want to work here. Tell all management.

I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good. One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? First the dire email: Mandatory OT by end of week with at least 2 hours on Saturday. Just forget if you had plans for the weekend. Say what time you will be working and have to work those hours and put who okay'd those hours on your timesheet (you might lie you know). Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies? I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago. They are paying me .7 cpl, no flexibility unless per-diem and then per-diems still have to work 2 holidays a year, lots of vaca time but can't use 2 weeks in the summer until I've been there 10 years, management impossible to get response from regarding any type of question, just got thrown into weekend rotation, etc. After looking at boards I see th ...
