Have been having a very aggravating issue lately with my left hand. There is no pain, no numbness, no temperature change issues, but rather a lack of coordination in regards to my left hand pinky and ring fingers only. When trying to put hands on home keys or use the pinky or ring finger they curl up and I almost have to physically straighten them. Not sure if started overnight or gradually just gotten worse, but has defiitely been bad for a week or so. Making me CRA ...
I get an email from Nuisance saying they are hiring, to which I respond I have tried to start with them, but have been forgotten apparently. Was told they would get back with me. This was Thursday and still no word. Yeah I think not!! ...
I could increase my speed a lot if I could find some way to make a comma with my left hand. I'm using my right hand to control the ==> cursor, and I have an ESL dictator who never says "comma" and a POS speech recognition software that never puts in commas, so I have 25 commas per report to put in.
Is there any way to designate comma (,) to another key? I have a Microsoft ergometric keyboard.
Thanks. ...
I am leaving this company after 11 years. They are the worst place to work for in the world. I hate them more than anything. They don't care about their employees or their clients. I feel really bad for anyone starting with this company. I have never been treated so terribly by anyone. I could go on and on about the barely legal things that they do. Watch your paycheck very closely because they will confuse you and take every opportunity to rip you off whenever they can. I don't know ...
Start the day with an email slap in the face, again, because they do not know how to manage people. Negative reinforcement never works. Then move on to mush mouth #1 dictator only to muttle through to the facility with the audio problems, STILL, 6 months after I pointed out where the problem was coming from..I hate this so much. I need to be fired so I can collect U/E and go back to college, any ideas to speed the process without losing my bennies? ...
I finally had got enough 100% post-audits to overcome the critical error that I had the first week of October to bring myself up over 99% and they found 2 critical errors in 1 report that brought me back down to 98%. Of those 2 critical errors, 1 was a typo where I put an L with a number and would not have affected patient care so they could have marked it down, and the other was honestly a critical error that I swear I remember listening to several times to make sure I wasn't ge ...
There will be plenty of work...then hire several more MT's, and you discover that you all were most likely hired to clean up a backlog. And then you end up with several MT's fighting over a few jobs. Ugh. I can't wait to get out of this industry. ...
I am so tired of this line of work, but right now it is all I've got. I quit MQ, who bought out Spheris, because of all the MANDATORY OT, hostile emails, etc, and now I am working for Transcend, who is being bought out by Nuance. God only knows what I'm in for now. I can't make the line count half the time because for some reason the counts are really whacky. I have to work twice as hard to make what I made at Spheris and I have the supervisor breathi ...
I'm just talking about employees here, not ICs. It amazes me that as a company employee, we would not be provided the most important tool we need to work with all set up to company specs, loaded with company s/w. If we worked on site, would we be expected to bring in our own computers? I don't think so.
Thanks. ...
I HATE that I am tied to my office just waiting for work to come in on two different companies. I HATE that I just quit a third company because of LACK OF COMMUNICATION (gave my notice to Keystrokes, no response from ANYONE). What is wrong with these people? They demand certain things of us but we have no rights? I HATE HATE HATE it and as soon as I possibly can find another job, I will LEAVE MT WORLD FOREVER. I HATE THAT I HAVE NO LIFE WITH THIS PROFESSION. H ...
of the medical field in general. What happened to all the American doctors? Has it become so blasted easy for foreigners to come over and get a job as a doctor or are Americans so damn-ass lazy that they don't want to get the education? Or is to so blasted expensive that no one can afford to become a doctor unless you are a foreign student? So freaking sick and tired of all these foreign dictators who speak so fast and sloppy. What the heck is going to become of our health care when we can& ...
I am working at a company who observes certain holidays and we are required to work 4 of them, but this is the first company I have ever worked where I have to use my PTO on the holiday I am supposed to be off. Does your company do the same?
Thank you! :) ...
I am experiencing gout in my left hand which is very painful. Has anyone had this? Any advice for still being able to work? The doctor has put meon colchicine, prednisone and Vicodin. Thanks in advance for any advice! ...
.... you were not trained thru an MT school but had equivalent medical studies schooling/background/hospital work... and managed to market yourself or simply applied to jobs and found yourself a start as an MT (in otherwords, without going thru any special "MT course" or certification since you had already gone thru university level courses in which you learned the same required medical subjects). If this is you, please tell me your story. ...
Is this correct? right-hand-dominant male
One of my doctors uses this phrase all the time and this is always the way I have typed it. I just want to know if I am typing it correctly, and if it is not correct what is the correct way to type it?
My thanks to anyone who answers ...
I work at a hospital that will shortly transition over to Health Management Associates. I have seen on their website they outsource all transcription work to Transcend. Right now all transcriptionists will be staying put but probably the first of year that will not be the case - can someone tell me anything about this company? Line rate, ease of making good counts, etc. Thanks. ...

Here's the text: Examination of the right hand reveals a long jagged laceration extending from the palmar surface into the web space. It is roughly 4.5 cm in length. It is full thickness and when the fingers are spread apart, the volar surface of the 1st phalange can be visualized through the wound. Volar? I'm not sure if that's what I'm hearing...it sounds like it starts with a b, like bowler or buller. I know what volar is, but does it fi ...
