I submitted my resume to Proscript this past week. The recruiter phoned and discussed a new escription oncology report. She seemed to be in a rush for me to take the test, so I put aside my other plans for that day and completed the test immediately. The test seemed easy enough.

However, the recruiter seems to have gone missing. I realize that anything could have happened. She seemed so nice. Maybe she is just a good actress. She could have dropped dead or something. Or she could be just plain rude.

Maybe she experienced a flash of insight and gave the work for this new escription account to the MTs that already work at Proscript?? I hope so.

Their last couple of recruiters each disappeared after a few days. - SM

Have any of those left in the past week? If so, maybe the reason I am not getting a response to emails is because I am sending my emails directly to the recruiter that worked there last week.

Actually, I would be a fool to spend any more time and energy on Proscript. But, thank you to all who posted the truth on this forum.

Here's the scoop about Proscript: It was a great company and I do mean great. I've been at this profession for more than 25 years and this was a really neat, friendly, happy company. There is a new crew there now and it has become every bit as cold and uninviting as the huge companies, but with NO BENEFITS and NO FUN. Just forget this place.
Now about there not being enough work: I still work there and I just don't see that there's not enough work for those who really know their stuff and can do all work types all specialties. If you're limited, then you're limited!
BOTTOM LINE: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. I've already been hired by another company and just keeping this proscript one for a little security, but will soon leave completely.

Why do companies like this constantly have ads to hire people when their employees come on this board and say there is no work. This is a common theme and I'm mystified. I realize there is usually a high turnover but maybe if these companies actually stop overhiring and provide work to these employees, then they would not leave.

The company is in turmoil right now. HUGE change in management. The work has dried up. Used to be plenty, made good money. Awful VR platform, wasting time editing junk files. Very uncaring and nitpicking management. Asked to sit by our computers 24 hours a day for any work to dribble in, than harangued about STATS. Do check the archives. Plenty has been said about them lately.

There is not enough work for the MTs who already work there. the recruiters/trainers seem to disappear. They stopped all benefits for MTs and cut the pay to boot.

Gosh, I wonder how you all have time to write so many posts? I have worked for ProScript since January 2009 and have had nothing but good experiences with them. The pay plan is comparable to other companies. Perhaps those complaining have not worked anywhere new in the last year or two. The transcription industry has changed, folks… Heck, the healthcare industry in general has changed. I think a company who will allow an existing MT 6 months to a year to be transitioned to VR at ...

I laughed – until I realized it may not be a typo or Freudian slip, but what they actually think we are worth. American MTSO, actual job ad. Before you all go crazy -- I know! I recently went to work with Proscript after 9 years of hell at Spheris and 1 year of the same thing with Medquist and I love it. I have a great hospital, great supervisor and flexilbility. I do work evenings though and that is my choice. The system is pretty decent. I can see a few things I would like to change, but for the most part, it's not bad. Money, (are we getting paid for this?), seems about the same, but I am still learning the account, so I don't feel I am up to sp ...
