I received an offer from Probity and have read some posts on the board. I am looking for current information from anyone currently working for or have worked for Probity in the past six months, pros and cons. From reading through the paperwork, it seems like you are given a short time to be up and running and must know the account specs with 4 days, which kind of makes me nervous as to what I am getting myself into.

I am looking to work set hours as opposed to constantly checking the pool for work throughout the day in order to get enough work each day.

There are mountains of paperwork to get through initially.

I think you need to be cleared on at least one work type in those four days. A trainer will work with you those four days. Feedback will be provided before the next day. Be sure to follow it. Be sure to use their instant messenger system to ask any questions. You will not be penalized for leaving blanks. Formatting, as always, is a company's big concern.

I think how well you do can depend on what account you get assigned.

As always, you would be dealing with new account specs and a new platform. Expect to be frustrated and things to go slow.

Most of the QA feedback is informative and helpful.

My personal recommendation is to not give up your current job until you are absolutely sure this company is a good fit for your needs. Actually, most of us work for more than one company because of the fluctuation in available work and other issues.

As always, each company has their pros and cons. The important thing will be to get through the individual details with a new company, then decide if you have both enough work for your needs and if you are making enough income for your needs.

Everything has pros and cons and this company is no different. I see lots of people leave after a day, and I see people who have been here longer than I have (almost 2 years). You ABSOLUTELY must be a hard worker.

If you can't commit to the job like any other job you would take, don't waste your time. You get out what you put in. I dedicate as much time to my job and staying informed of new information as I would if I hadn't picked a work from home career.

If you give up easily, don't waste your time. Every new job is new and comes at a learning curve. If you care enough to stick with it and seek advice when you need it, I'm sure you'll go far.

If you care about benefits, don't waste your times. The benefits are horrible, sad but true. I pass on them and am covered under my husband thank goodness.

If you meet all the above requirements, they are an excellent company to work for. I love the QA staff, the client service staff, my managers, and even the technical staff. Everyone is always willing to help and although you'll work hard, they won't ask you to do anything they aren't doing.

P.S. I have never had a problem with lack of work either. There is always so much work that I work extra every time I can squeeze it into my schedule. And you don't check any pools, you just use a button to get work sent to you, it's never come up empty since I started working there.

I just had a job offer for Probity. I am considering it, but before I accepted I emailed them with a question about if there is steady work and still have had no response. I am on unemployment benefits, so if I take their job and then there is not steady work and if I have to quit, I cannot get my benefits back. So, it's a delicate decision. I got a job offer at Probity. The pay has an incentive built in for anything over 5000 lines per pay period. Does anyone know what the pay period is? It doesn't say and am waiting for resonse from recruiting. Also, it is for a 6 hour shift. Is that normal. I was hoping for 8. Is eligibility for benefits based on line count or hours worked? I got hired at Probity. I managed to last 13 days. I've got 30 years of experience as an MT and thought it would be a breeze. The account specs weren't the problem - but the dictators were horrible. One after another ESLs that I could hardly understand, lots of googling to find Dr and hospital names, and somehow when they count lines, it seemed really low (maybe they weren't counting headers and footers). Thanks in advance for any information. Can someone tell me if their platform is consumer friendly or not? Is it slow? I understand it's compatible with word, but can you use most short cut programs with it, such as smart type, instant text, short hand?
