ProScript, MModal, Chase Trans - Kelis

Any current info on the above three MTSO? I have friends who've worked for ProScript and switched to MModal, but having a hard time finding reviews of Chase Transcription in Ohio. Thanks in advance.

I just left MModal last week and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. What a crappy place to work. I couldn't comment on the other two, but I would say this... I used to not believe all of the negatives about MModal until my company was bought by them and now I know that all of the negatives were true. Read the MModal board for more info.

I was one of them too that left when they bought DSG out. I can't say I'm really all that happy about the place I'm at now, but it's not too bad of a paycheck, and you definitely earn every penny with the line count they require every pay period.

What I hate most about M*Modal is that now other, - formerly decent companies are emulating them.

Every time M*Modal makes some nasty change that affects its MTs, I shudder because I know my company, who likes to consider itself a mini M*Modal, always comes out with the same changes not long afterward. I hate my company, but I think I detest M*Modal even MORE.

I left last week too! I will never again do VR. You just have to decide that enough is enough. Making minimum wage I can take, but can't stomach getting paid so little for VR when it takes me just as long or longer to do as straight transcription. I think we can all agree it certainly isn't getting any better.

I agree - it's easier to type the dern report from scratch than it is to "edit" a VR report. Especially with the difficult ESLs, VR never improves and never learns like these stupid companies think it does. It isn't just filling in a blank and following along to make sure all the duckies are in a row... it is completely retyping sentences and paragraphs, reformatting, cutting and pasting...etc. My hands are so tired after a day of VR, way more so than just typing 8 hours straight. Luckily, I just found a new job that came up out of the blue. It's clinic work, which I've never done before, and it's straight typing - no VR. Hope it lasts until I find a job in a completely different line of work. :)

Stay AWAY froim Chase Transcriptionis!!I jumped through hoops to get hired at this company. Took an oral test over the phone and aced it. Then took test on-line and aced it. Then, they never got back to me on anything. I called the company and they said that they only contact the person they hired. Does anybody out there work for Chase Transcriptions? I understand they use ChartNet (hooray!) and do only straight typing, no VR. All good things. However, they only pay a little over 7 cents a line, not so good. I am having a very hard time, not production wise but platform-wise and personnel wise at Transcend, and am looking to make a move but frankly, I can't afford to take any less than I'm getting now.
