Now that VR has been in place at Synernet for awhile, has anyone sm - Curious

noticed a reduction in their pay as some feared, or has it stayed the same? (I guess I could ask if it has gone up, but seems like that rarely happens anywhere.) I am just curious. I have been blessed to have just straight typing jobs, but I have heard rumblings that one of the accounts may go to VR, so I'm a bit nervous about how it will affect my income.

Find a nearby Aldi's. VR put us in the 47% category. - Or forced retirement

Surely don't expect an increased paycheck...only for Nuance and CEOs.

but true. I hate it with a passion. It never learns. That email about those MTs whose lines have gone up fail to mention that they are the exception. My line count has remained the same.....VR takes up about half that line count, ergo my pay is going way DOWN:(((

I might as well move to India, I guess. At least the cost of living would be closer to what I will be making. It was my impression that the VR was not supposed to be much, but then again I have been doing this long enough to know I cannot count on anything management says. They will do and say anything just to quiet the masses, all of the time plotting on a way to take even more from us while lining their pockets.

The fact that some MTs' lines have gone up isn't, in itself, surprising. The problem is how MUCH they'll have to increase in order to sustain one's earnings. Some quick calculations suggest that we'll have to produce 75% more lines per hour to break even.

If the proportion of VR was as small as we were initially led to believe, it might be possible to work extra hours to compensate for the loss of income (either that or stop buying groceries), but VR already accounts for half of my work, too. I expect that the proportion will increase over time, so this doesn't look promising.

...about how GREAT VR was going, and a whole table of statistics. How the heck do you read that thing? I have no idea what the categories are or what the numbers mean. Is it supposed to be good news or bad news? YAY TEAM!

Haha, you're not supposed to be able to understand those stats. It is all above us; but just trust them that they understand and it is all okay. Be happy, you will soon be making more money than you ever dreamed of! Even with the cut in pay! They have to cut our pay in half or they couldn't afford to keep us in our cushy jobs, don't you know. Our exorbitant pay would break the company and lose them their clients. They wouldn't be able to make their goals for giving the best quality for the cheapest price. Just be assured that they have your best interests at heart and all will be fine in the end. Just a little bump in the road. I just like the way they start every email with "Hey Team" then they rip you a new one or ask for more for their money. Like any of us have ever even met each other or them. A team to me is a group of people who know each other and work as one for a common goal. Sounds more like we are to work as a team for THEIR common goal. They all know each other and what's going on. I in no way feel like a "team" member of Synernet. I don't even know what their game plan is. I do know that if I make a mistake though they will throw me under the bus without even a glance back.

leads post on a social media page about how happy she is at her new job at another company. She didn't mention Synernet, but I recognized her name. Perhaps the people in management know something we do not - rats deserting a sinking ship, not that this lead is a rat - bad analogy, I suppose. I cannot blame anyone for finding a better situation and hightailing it out of here. I was led to believe that the VR would only be 20% or so of the dictation, but instead, like others, it seems to be closer to half, and it is not "easy" VR, have to make lists, capitalize, and fix most of the report.

AK, JW, and DW are gone, at least they are no longer listed in the address book. Of course, half the time I do not know who the leads or "co-managers" are anyway. I would think there would be a list or something, but then again, why should we be informed about anything.

You know something is seriously wrong when people in those positions suddenly start disappearing and are never seen or heard from again. I think those particular leads have been gone for several months now. They all seemed to disappear right around the time when things started to seem off and go down hill. Maybe they knew something? This is a very strange company and I don't feel at all comfortable there anymore, not just because of the cut in pay since VR started, but also the huge lack of communication and never knowing what will happen next. I'm actively looking for another job at this time.

People disappear and are never heard from again? They simply quit, and what are they going to do, come back and visit? I agree the lack of communication is ridiculous and they don't tell us who the leads are because they can't keep people in that position and no one would ever take that position if they knew the turnover. The leads quit because of the enormous stress, the pettiness and backstabbing that goes on behind the scenes (with a couple of exceptions), the fact that they are expected to do 16 hours worth of work in 8 hours, and are as much in the dark as we are and can't answer our questions about what's going on. It's a small company and if they really wanted us to feel like a team they would have a list of MTs but they don't want us to know what the MT turnover is and I believe they don't even want us to talk to each other. And has anyone noticed the employee handbook and teams list are no longer on the message board and haven't been for months?

If I have to listen to another gushing company VR cheerleader, I will gag. We know, and they know, that VR is a lie. Why don't we just admit it?

I'm all for being positive -- bloom where you're planted and all of that, but this is a rotten deal. 1) VR itself sucks, but it is here to stay, but they chose perhaps the WORST software possible to stick us with. 2) Perhaps they use a different kind of math, but "perhaps only 20% VR" does not mean half of the work I do. I should be used to lies by now, but I just wish someone would respect me enough to be honest. Of course, no one is going to say, "we are really going to stick it to you this time."

I hate to see you all going through this with THEBIGSYN, but I knew months ago from the shabby treatment that I and several others received when the summer "fun" was over and I had to scramble to starve that the writing was on the wall. I got bashed by a few for expressing my opinion and I have, indeed, moved on. I WISH YOU LUCK. I am an independent contractor now and am using Dolby Speech Magic for another facility and it is marvelous. The type rate is 0.08 and SR is 0.05, which is not "great" for an independent contractor, but I am no longer starving, the company leaves me alone and I can breathe again. I don't understand why Synernet doesn't realize how really bad their VR is? I've never seen such a bad program! I guess I wouldn't know that except I've worked on others. Synernet: Your VR stinks!!!

I've looked for other jobs but Synernet still seems better than most. I'm not impressed with the changes but I understand them. Looks like they're doing what they should have done years ago, but I assume they were trying to be the final holdout. The time has come for all of us to find a new career! The Team crap is a bit much but I have more important things to focus on. Ready for my vacation (of which I'm taking 5 this year)!

Hey everyone, I know what you are going through.  I worked for MQ for a very long time . I was tired of not making a paycheck.  Try Etransplus.  I work for them now and they are the most wonderful people.  It is straight typing, no voice recognition AT ALL!!  You can make up to 9-1/2 cents a line and they are not picky about how long you work.  The benefits are not as good but they do have some.  Try them out.  It was the best move I had ever made. ...
