When we post a job opening on this web site we get a ton of replies and many of them are not even interested when we call. Even before we get to any details. What I am getting at is that we do not call every single person back. That would just not be feasible. It is just like applying for any other job. Not everyone gets a call back after they apply. From some of the posts it seems we are offending people if we do not call them back. We call back the applicants that seem to fit what we think we can offer. I am going to make sure and include all the states we can hire from. Hopefully that will stop people from wasting their time when they are not in one of these states.

I'm not one who applied to your company, but used to be a corporate recruiter in a totally different field . We used to snail mail cards to everyone...this was 10 years ago.. they were pretty impersonal but at least the candidates knew the resume had been received and the position filled. I think a short email reply would be professional and would save you some grief. You could set up a standard canned reply easily. It does not have to be unique to each applicant. I would not call candidates not considered for the position- that would set you up for some conversations that could end up pretty unpleasant! Just some advice from the peanut gallery, take it or leave it.

It's a common courtesy - I would think.

Every single non-MT professional position that I have ever applied for I have received a response back from. Pretty much a standard response like "Thank you for your interest in xxxx company. We are currently reviewing applications and will contact you if you meet our qualifications." It would be nice to receive something when you apply to a company.

a standard email with same response you listed above. It is common courtesy - or at least it used to be. Times are changing and people live in a fast-paced society, but it is fairly easy to set up a standard email and just a click of the mouse away from sending a courtesy email.

Michigan? Because Michigan is not on the list of states you provided in the other thread.

I am wondering about that because the economy is so bad here, it would be great if a MI-based service offered jobs to people in the state it's based.

I sent you a resume, but even before I did that, someone from your company contacted ME from an ad I placed on the Job Wanted board... SOME kind of response would have been better than no reply at all.

I think I may have spoken too soon when I said they basically got rid of it. Math is definitely not my thing, but after studying it further, isn't it basically the same? It says, An additional $0.0075 per line or $0.09 per report for work transcribed between the hours of: (and then it gives the different hours for each time zone)............. Isn't that what it was before? And the .09 cents per report, is this for radiology reports? ??? ...

Hello, I would like to transcribe from home again. However, I HAVE to get up and walk for a few minutes at least once an hour. You see, I had to have 2 back surgeries in the last 18 months. I've been a transcriptionist for many years and this is my profession. Does anyone have a suggestion what to tell these companies that will hire you to work from home when you have to get up so much? The last company I tried had a "pop-up" box that appeared on my screen if you were up longer than 10 min ...

I quit last July because they couldn't keep me "transcriptioning," sent my resignation to my supervisor, and then received a letter in October stating that I was terminated. Loved it! And I'm thinking of reapplying. Ought to be an interesting experience.. lol.. just love it! I don't have anything else to do, and what other company would let you not work for 3 months before they terminated you? Did I mention how much I love this ...

Thanks so much for any advice! I am newly divorced and working at a call center, and I have an MT certificate from Everett Community College, and even though I have lost 1/2 of my stuff thanks to my ex, I seem to have held on to my foot pedal, software, and that is about it. I would like to start over and try to find an MT job. I had an excellent GPA in school but have never worked. I graduated in 2007. Am I crazy to try? I figure it is now or never, anyway. ok so after 13 years, having to resort to food stamps and borrowing money to make my rent, I leave MM approx 2-1/2 months ago to to type for 2 docs and 2 PAs in a private practice at $15/hr, no weekends, no holidays, beautiful office building, 1 hour lunch...and I get a call asking if I would consider coming back to MM ... AND I wouldn't even have to test for them!. ha....ha ha....ha ha ha....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...

I have now been doing EditScript for a month now and my lines are still horrific. I've read the manual over and over and still have the below questions.
