Need advice regarding Verbal Ink - Jiffy

I responded to the ad placed by Verbal Ink yesterday for an MT to transcribe surgical pathology. They responded to me today wanting me to set up an interview using yahoo messenger. Is this company legit? I cant find anything negative when I googled them, but I think it seems strange they would handle an interview this way. Thanks!

If you go up to the MTJobs link called Scam Alert, you will see that this ad is a classic fit to that scam.

Thank you for the heads up. Stupidly I set up the yahoo messenger and he instantly responded. The questions he started asking were exactly like this. I became very suspicious because it was taking forever between questions. He only asked 3 so I was lucky I didnt waste any more time. I am disappointed, but again, I very much appreciate you taking the time to point me in this direction. Have a fantastic day! :)

Maybe try contacting them directly not via that ad and see if they are indeed hiring?

Verbal Ink indeed is a real company, and like so many other real companies, the scammers are pretending to be that legit company. The big red flag is the requirement of setting up a messenger account in order to have an interview, and then they start asking for money up front or personal information....you never actually speak to a real person. This is happening a lot it seems like.

I contacted them and told them what happened. They said they had already been made aware of the situation and the ad had been removed. It is indeed a shame that people stoop so low as to do this to legitimate businesses trying to snark money.

went back another week before my call?! I'm so confused. I was told the other day they counted the week prior to my verbal warning. Now was just told by HR they counted the week before that too?!??!! Can someone explain that to me?! The weeks before the call are what prompted the call to begin with. When you tell someone hey get your crap togther isn't it from that moment on ?
