Anyone have info on working for Amphion? Or any info on companies that hire for VR? I checked archives on Amphion but there's nothing very recent. I'm interested in mainly VR and I saw on their website they're looking for editors. I know I'm the minority when it comes to VR. I haven't even applied yet. What specific questions should I ask if they have a phone interview? Here's questions I've thought of -- what platform, line requirements, schedules. I'm only looking for part-time and have specific hours that I can work. Should I tell them up front what hours I can work and let them decide if they want me?

I wish companies would let you ask questions like this - before

you take their long tests (in Amphion's case, it's 2 hours, timed). I don't know why companies have you do this first before you even know what they pay.

I have a friend who recently took a job with Amphion. Pros, she says, are they are nice to work for with great communication. A major con is they don't pay for spaces.

They may not approve them, so you're better off discussing things while you're on the phone rather than getting hired, working the hours of choice, and then hearing from TPTB that you can't.

Well, I tried calling the contact person listed in their ad three times, and she never called me back. Same thing, I had some questions before I wanted to take the test. Not sure why they would not even answer any questions.

I have been hired not too long ago, and after testing, when interviewed, we discussed everything from pay to scheduling. You can tell her when you are interviewed what schedule you prefer/require, and she will check with your potential new supervisor to see if your schedule will work with the client's needs and existing coverage. If so, when/if you are offered a job, that will be outlined for you as a condition of employment. Hope this helps!

I have a friend that would like to get into doing transcription so she can stay home with her kids. She's done transcription before, but never medical. I've done some research for her, but it's hard to tell which companies are legit or not. It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses. Anyone ever get fired from Amphion for not meeting line requirements? I work for them FT or more as needed and have yet to make the 12,000 line requirement. I've been with them for 6 months now and have not heard a peep about it. My QA is meeting requirements and my attendance is excellent, but I have yet to make the line count.
