Keystrokes tiered pay system - Im just sayin

Just wait and see how many are singing the praises of Keystrokes after the tiered pay schedule starts on August 16! I went through a pay reduction tier structured exactly like Keystrokes (at a company which I shall not name), and believe me EVERYBODY lost money. Those of you who are fulltime that think it won't be you, just wait until they shift a bunch of other MTs onto your accounts in order to "spread the wealth." This is already going on. My fulltime account, which always had a backlog and used to always have OT on the weekends, suddenly started running out of work as soon as this tiered system was introduced. It is hard to make those high production levels when there isn't enough work to go around. I haven't quit yet, but having been there, done that, as soon as my pay scale drops below what I was hired at, I will be gone. I would rather know what I am being paid from line #1 than to have to struggle and stress about meeting some level in order to make the rate they agreed to pay me when I started 6 years ago. Good luck to all, I truly hope I am wrong.

I don't understand a tiered system at all. Just because I work 12 hours a week for a company I'm valued less? I don't think so. My work is just as good if I'm working 12 or if I'm working 40.

Those at Keystrokes who are going through this have every right to be horked off, imo.

They changed their numbers on August 1. More lines required for the higher pay, every week. No more twice monthly paychecks but payed every 2 weeks which makes it real hard to even get more than 6 cpl because, despite multiple accounts, there is no work. If I have multiple accounts so do those other MTs and they must be going from account to account to account to get their lines. They are not to blame. It's management. Being paid on a tiered system may work for a few but I do not believe it works for the majority. More money in management's pocket. What's that word I've seen others use? Oh, yeah. GREED.

Don't you think it's about time the government got involved? This is just so unjust that I can't believe it!!! Sounds so illegal and does not look to get better any time soon. Though the companies will say there is nothing illegal about it. I can't believe this is allowed. You would be better off being paid hourly at some job, if there are any available anytime soon, than not knowing what the heck you are going to have at the end of a pay period to make ends meet. Bust your butts to work over 8 hours a day, and I am sure it is more like 10-12 hours/day for a measley amount when you factor all your other expenses in that go with this job, i.e. internet, long distance, etc. I sure pity you poor people working from home. UNBELIEVABLE..yet most of you will stick with it and a ways down the road will wonder why. The pay is not going to be there compared to several years back. You are all being stabbed in the back. If you want me to work 8+ hours a day or provide so many lines per pay period, by God then provide the dang work. That is all there is to it. I don't work from home any longer, but this just irritates the heck out of me and I get on here every so often to see if anything has changed. NOT!!!

And those "other expenses" are a tax write off. I know each day what I made and have never failed to meet my personal daily line count, which far exceeds what any company has ever expected. I work hard, I benefit, not some employer. By the way, I have one job that I work about 5 hours a day and the other job is maybe 1-2 hours a day.

I just got an email that the tiered pay system is no more. Keystrokes listened to their employees and admitted it was a mistake and now they aren't going to do it.

I KNEW this was a great company and while the pay change wouldn't have affected me right now, I am so happy for my fellow employees!!

I find it ridiculous that some of you peeps are quick to forgive the recent actions of KS. The fact that they considered implementing the tiered pay scale in the first place speaks volumes about how they feel about their MTs. I wonder just how many were forced to resign because of this... only THEN to find out KS reversed the policy. I smell a ploy to oust some MTs from their payroll.

The tiered system didn't affect me, I do over 30,000 lines a payperiod. However, I am glad to see that they aren't afraid to admit when they are wrong and take steps to fix it.

Haven't you ever made a mistake? Just keep swallowing those bitter pills. Must make you very happy, lol.

Many companies make mistakes and admit it; Microsoft is a great example of that for a great company (think WindowsME). MQ is a great example of that for a BAD company (think national pools).

I was told that less than a dozen people quit, and I think there are more than 1000 that work at Keystrokes now.

beyond repair.  We let it go on far too long, the abuses.  The lawsuit will help, but it is not enough, and it will take too long. I shouldn't be complaining about making minimum wage or less than minimum wage or be bullied into changing my timesheet.  I shouldn't have to see any posts on here telling me I must be a bad MT if I only make minimum wage.   I have spyware loaded onto my computer that watches me.  Something is not right here folks.   ...

Somehow I have gotten this virus on my laptop and when searching for ways to remove it on the internet (on my desktop), all the sites are either extremely comlicated or want you to download things in order to remove it.  The problem with downloading is that I can't even get to the internet on my laptop.  It blocks anywhere I want to go but brings up constant pages of porn.  Any suggestions on how to remove this or do I just need to take it in somewhere???    Thank ...


DocQscribe ASR System. Does It Really Get Better?

My account was switched over 5 weeks ago and truthfully I don't see improvement.  One day I think maybe it is getting better and the next day it's worse.  It doesn't cap what should be and does cap things that shouldn't.  It has probably 50 different things it uses for "next" or "next is."  It puts q.h.s. one time and at bedtime the next.  It will do a fantastic job on a crappy ESL dictator then get every third word wrong on a good dictator, but the n ...


My New Grading System

It's simply unfair that MQ pays me the same same whether I do a normally dictated report, or one that is handicapped.  Handicapped reports obviously take much more time to finish.  Here's my new grading system for leaving markers.  It's how I'm going to grade the documents that are necessary to include blanks in case they are thrown back at me for any reason.  It gives me ammunition to fight back.  Each subject gets a point (which to me ...
