I usually do not complain on this board, but I have seriously had enough.  I usually tried to stay positive about SoftScript, but no longer!  There are only 3 days left in this payperiod and I have done only just over 1000 lines.  "No Work Available" seems to be the pattern lately.  Plus, I have emailed management several times asking to get a secondary account and have not even gotten a reply email to say we are working on it or even "no", NOTHING!!!  I used to have a secondary account, but for some reason it was taken away:  "due to account coverage, this account will be removed as your secondary account".  To much surprise, I am constantly getting emails regarding accounts that need help and the account that was taken away is ALWAYS in need of help!  So, what did taking it away from me accomplish????  A secondary account was given to me a while back, but I never, ever got any work from it, and just recently I noticed that it too was gone.  And, don't even get me started on QA!!!!  I sent a report in for editing and this editor seemed to think that the fact that my account is verbatim didn't mean anything.  I typed a sentence the exact way the dictator said it and she/he decided to split it into 3 sentences, adding and deleting words as she pleased!!!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I emailed QA about this and, of course, NO REPLY!!!  I am getting increasingly sick and tired of how much I am being ignored.  When I am OOW I email as per protocol and they always tell me, there are other employees who have precedent right now so keep trying!  Then, not 2 minutes later, I recieve an email stating that there are several STATs that need to be done.  I volunteer, but am told, "sorry I am waiting for other replies" or "these have already been done", and if that is the case then why do I get an email about 10 minutes later saying how dissapointed they are that noone has volunteered to do these STATS!!!!!!  Do they think I am stupid?!!?  What is going on here????  I have consistently throughout my employment with SoftScipt had an accuracy rating of well above 98%, so not giving me work has nothing to do with my ability to transcribe. 

Okay, done venting for now!  Oh yes, and to no surprise "No Work Available" today!

I worked for them about 1-1/2 years ago, after they were CONSTANTLY advertising, so I "figured" I would be able to "rack up" the lines. Boy, was I surprised . . .

The same things, exact same things happened to me back then.

You need to get away from them because they will drive you NUTS (been there)!

What makes me even more frustrated is that some employees and/or ICs not only have primary, secondary, and tertiary accounts, but they also have quaternary accounts!!! And why is it that I can only have a primary?? I have asked this question before and no answer!

Anytime you are not working your shift of 40 hours if full-time, you have a perfect right to file and I would file. Why not? You can file for any amount of hours you are short in working. It's called job insurance and you pay in to that fund, so consider doing it. Everyone in this situation should. Maybe the MTSOs will start playing on a more even field and evening out the work if they have to start paying out for doing this kind of thing.

Unforunately I cannot do that. I am an IC from Canada so do not have those options. I can completely understand US employees getting precedent over me as I am an IC from Canada, but at least give me an answer and reply to my emails instead of blatently ignore me!

I don't think that you being a Canadian MT had anything to do with it as I being a US MT practically had to "beg" for work and sending Emails that I was ready for "my shift" made no difference at all. Any reply I got was that I was not trained on the overflow accounts and they "had people" to take care of it. Whatever . . .

I'll never work for that company EVER again. They acted like they had "all kinds of work" but I struggled to make my line count since day one. It was the only job I've had where I just QUIT just like that. . . ug

When I was leaving my old company I asked a woman, (a former MTSO) whom I really respect, for advice. She told me that no matter what else I did, to never, EVER work for SoftScript, no matter what. She is not a negative kind of person and I knew she would not say something like that without reason, so I stayed away. Now I am glad I did.

I'm glad I didn't go with them. I didn't like the hours they wanted me to work, and I actually could not work those hours. They were the only company that would let me work using my Windows 2000 computer though.

I work for them PT, started about a month ago. Except for the first few days I've had work... I have 3 accounts. I took it because it's straight typing, but it's hard to get a good line count so far. Training was a short phone call (just someone explaining the program) and it took me a while to get used to the platform. Hard to get a question answered while you're working sometimes...out of any place I've worked, never had such a hard time getting started. Spend quite a bit of time going from page to page looking up account specs (finally made my own page with all 3 accounts specs on them at once), looking up doctors' names. Have to search for and apply demographics on every report. One account I'm getting accustomed to, but the other two I have not done enough of yet. I'm plugging away but so far I'm making more on my VR jobs. The group e-mails from management seem kind of harsh compared to some other companies. From posts above, I am wondering how they assign their accounts...why they won't give some people more than one

Ya I have no idea why they don't give people more accounts and some way too many accounts. All I have been asking for is a secondary account and they have not gotten back to me on that at all even after 3 months' worth of emails. I find that they overstaff when they should be giving their employees who don't have enough work, more work or new accounts. But, I just don't think you can teach this old dog any new tricks, they are set on their ways that is for sure!

Just need to vent!!  I used to work for a transcription company on production pay at 7 cents/line after a few years there and basically getting starved out of the door for lack of work they were sending me I quit.  Now the clinic they were typing for has hired me to do the same work as I had been doing, same docs, same format, everything!!!  At, get this, $8/hour!!!!  I have a degree in MT plus close to 5 years experience doing THEIR dictations needless to say!!!  Really ...

I am just venting. I took a position with a company a few months ago as a secondary income and the platform and dictators are great - very easy to make good money. The problem is there's not enough work to hit my daily line counts and when I ask for more, I kind of get the brush off. It baffles me because there are other accounts in which they have work and they have even needed to post job openings and yet, I sit with no work. I have been out of school since July 15 and applied to over 30 companies.  I applied for this job at a company and haven't heard back yet.  I am optimistic that  I may get this job, but it is taking forever to hear back.  Passed their first test, took the second one, now I am waiting to hear back if I got hired or not. Frustrated that even though I have stressed my proficiency in ED work, I am still forced to do other work types first, while yet others are getting ED work types in their "pools"... I would think you would want someone who types fast in a certain area be allowed to crank that work out first and then when it runs out, let the other work types they are not so good at roll into their pool....  Frustrated ...

The pdf electronic version of BOS-2 was so handy and easy to use.  Wonder what made them decide to do away with that & make it to where you have to open a browser, find the link, sign in, find the BOS page, etc., for the 3rd edition.  It's so much more time-consuming, not to mention the search feature doesn't work nearly as well as the BOS-2 pdf version.  For the first time ever, I can't wait for the 4th edition because surely nobody likes this & they will g ...

I was in the middle of working on a file on ExpressScribe Pro and a box popped up saying that it had expired and that I would have to purchase it.  It had said at the top that it was licensed and my name.  I was having issues with playing the files and they sent me an update link to fix it.  Now a month later it tells me that my program has expired and that I have to purchase it.  I am so frustrated right now and NCH will not answer my questions anymore or respond in any way ...
