How is SoftScript to work for. Is there sound still as bad as - PAMT

to work for and is their sound still as bad on their system. Would like to hear from someone who is working there now. Nothing like asking a question when still half asleep.

from your PM, never being able to make enough lines to qualify for benefits, much less pay your bills, I'd say SoftScript is the ideal place to work.

I am part-time, and right now, they have work and trying to get part-timers to help. I refuse to give up my days off, to get work done when there is no benefits. I stuck with part-time because of always running out of work and knowing that I would not have enough lines for benefits. But by part-time standards, you only get 10 hours of UNPAID time off. Kiss my butt - if I need time and am part-time, give enough notice, I will take the time. Write me up, fire me, whatever. So not worth the grief, but I am not in the mood to start looking for another position. I have 3 part-time jobs going on now, just to make ends meet. This industry is sucking more and more of the life out of me, and I have been doing it since 1982.

Just left SS last week and glad to be out. They are not the worst, but come close to it. The benefits are hard to hang on if you don't meet the minimum lines per pay period, but there is not enough work to support the lines, so no medical benefits. The PTO is a joke. I have no idea how they calculate the accrual of benefits, but only can take a couple a days off with pay a year. No holiday pay. The positives are pay on time, QA a mixed bag but okay. I gave it a try and that's about all one can do, but I'll never go back!!!

Sound quality is terrible. On one account we were advised to put the cursor on the volume control and "wiggle" it so the sound would improve. !!!! Not easy to make line counts typing with only one hand! I have six accounts and still run out of work. The bad part is I am expected to know the account specifics for six different accounts, although I generally only type on 3 of them. Don't know what is going on with the other 3--I suspect they're overflow accounts. I ignore the negative emails as well as anything from QA. An editor I got to know told me that some of the editors have only 2 years of experience. I figure I've been doing this 10 times longer so know more than they do. Benefits and time off are the reason I am leaving. Hope the new job is better.

Someone here mentioned the sound quality at DSG. Has anyone ever addressed it there? Seems that in this day and age, sound should be perfect. I have mentioned it here and there to them, but nobody has ever gotten back to me on it. Some of dictations sound like there's a piece of sheet metal being slammed with a hammer. Not good. I'm trying to troubleshoot something. Does anyone else have sound-quality issues on DSG dictations? Just curious if I should seriously have this looked at on my end. It's not all reports, but enough so that I need to look into it one way or the other. If I'm the only one, I'll hire someone to look into this.
