A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I am currently in the middle of applying for MedQuest. I am seeing bad things about it on here. I just graduated college with my associates degree in Medical Transcription, so where would be a few good places to apply to, to work from home??
If you're not proficient in labs, meds, and ESLs, this is not the place for you. They've begun cracking down on labs/meds especially hard since a patient died because an MT put a wrong med, and they're complaining/cracking on the number of blanks sent to QA and blanks to the clients. The sound files in most instances have gotten really bad across the board, thus the increase in blanks, but it's the MT who gets blamed.
This is a good company to work for, the platform rocks, ASR is becoming profitable, PTO works like a bank account (you choose how much $$ you want use), insurance prices went down for me for the first time in 9 years, but be forewarned - if you come here, the account they're hiring for has ridiculous specs, rules and regulations. QA is constantly sending out complaints from the client, this is wrong, that is wrong, do this, do that, remember this, remember that, get it right, blah blah. Even some of the people who came with the account have left, it's that bad. They're desperate for people on the account and desperation breeds deception.
Good luck wherever you end up!
And come on in, just take off the rose-colored glasses first. It's not heaven but it's a lot better than some things I see here!
