Going back to TTS at a lower rate than before : ( - Told need to lower per line rate

What's going on with TTS?   When I first worked for them a few years ago they offered a little more than I was making at a national.  I was told they did this to kept quality MTs. 

Now the story is different and I was told they need to lower line rates because of competition.  They also lost a manager after years with TTS. 

Am I being bamboozled or is there a TTS buyout in sight?  Surprised

some concerns or suspicions and if thats the case, maybe you should think twice about going back. Not the kind of feelings to go into a new job with.

Need the extra money from second job. - Just wondering what is going on with TTS.

Maybe it's an across the board thing where pay is being lowered and extra management is being eliminated or maybe it is just greed.

If TTS is being bought out, I think it would be a good thing. As I remember it was top-heavy in micro-managers who double dipped and cherry picked doing transcription in their "spare" time.

Anyway just trying to get feedback from MTs who have been newly hired. Are companies lowering pay or is this just TTS?

I've only worked there since July, and one of the managers left, I believe last week. I was with Medquist for 8 years and then didn't work for a little over a year. I needed a job and took one with TTS, and the pay stinks. From what I've been reading on these boards, most of the companies are starting out at terrible rates. I have no idea if and/or when a raise will come.

I along with a couple others at my company have actually recieved increases on VR rate. So doubt all companies are lowering pay. I think its just TTS. Maybe they are having financial trouble.

I currently work for TTS and haven't heard of this, nor have I heard that they are "owned by Nuance" as suggested by others.

With that being said, I've been there for nearly 4 years without a raise either, nor any mention of it!

I am doing VR on a hospital account that I just started doing in August - the amount of time that I spend researching doesn't change to "half" when I am doing VR from straight.  I don't know the names of the all the doctors, hospitals, clinics, cities, streets, etc. in this account - if the VR puts in Dr. Stevens - I have to double-check to make sure that it doesn't mean Dr. Stephens.  That is all very time-consuming.  I may be able to speed up the audio to 35% or 4 ...

Hi all, There is a discrepancy with the proper use of this - can anyone help? Some at my work are saying it should be bilateral lower extremities, whereas others think it is bilateral lower extremity since the "bilateral" implies that it's plural and hence no need to say "lower extremities." I've seen it both ways, but the more that I think about it the more I'm getting myself confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated! ...

Well I started with a new company this week and so far I have made $31 for the whole week.  I  have never done Radiology before and that was what they put me on.  I am acute care but the hospital I used to work for had their own Radiology Dept, so th is is a new learning curve, plus new doctors, format, etc.  By the time QA gets ahold of reports I feel ike a new student and I have over 35 years exp.  I am beyond depressed.  At least I can put on my resume Radiology ...

Last month, I had no problem clearing 1400-1700 lines.  Now, I struggle to even get the 1200 we are required even though I work just as hard if not harder than I did before.  I have continued to eliminate distractions and barely move from my desk, yet my line count seems to continue to drop.  Anyone else having this problem? ...

7 cpl job has BCBS about 53.00 per pp, dental 4.00 per pp. Employer pays for short term and long term disability, and they pay your life insurance at 2 times your pay. Back To Work After Back Surgery

Hello, I would like to transcribe from home again. However, I HAVE to get up and walk for a few minutes at least once an hour. You see, I had to have 2 back surgeries in the last 18 months. I've been a transcriptionist for many years and this is my profession. Does anyone have a suggestion what to tell these companies that will hire you to work from home when you have to get up so much? The last company I tried had a "pop-up" box that appeared on my screen if you were up longer than 10 min ...
