New version = lower line counts? - cr

Has anyone else noticed that with the newer version, their line counts are shrinking? It seems to me lately that the reports are getting longer and longer, yet when I check the line count, thinking it's got to be good for that day, it's barely minimum. It's so discouraging.

Copy the report or all the parts that you get counted for and paste it into Word, then check the character line either with or without spaces and divide by 65 to get your line count.

That is what I do to make sure I am not getting screwed out of line just in case they want to play games. For me it comes out exactly what I get for lines per report.

So if this is the case, what will they do with you if your line count does not meet their quota per day? Just curious. I take it this is the new version they have that only some are using now. I have not gotten this yet.

I figured out how to cut down the document check time which helps. - dnr

I have spell check on while in the document. Any words or doctor's names or location name underined in red, if I am positive is correct, I right click and select ignore all. If the underlined word is wrong, just click on the correct spelling. Easily done without stopping editing. The amount of time saved by not doing the document check twice adds up. I wish they would add the commonly used headings, such as drains, to the accepted list.

My counts are really lower too. I don't know why they didn't make it upload after the spell check is finished instead of doing it twice. Really depressing.

If everyone would submit a remedy ticket that the - spell check is inefficient

maybe they will get the point and fix it next time. At the very least, we could get the message across that what they did is make our job less efficient not more efficient. I submitted a remedy ticket on the problems they caused the day after I installed it.

I cannot tell you how many times I have put in a ticket through Remedy to have words spelled correctly and provided documentation of proof of correct spelling, only to have it ignored. I'm done trying to fix stupid, after all what do I know? I've only been sitting here doing this job for 20 years.

When I filed a ticket I got a call from overseas wanting to go through the entire spellcheck process with me over the phone. Basically insinuated I didn't do the training right and surely I was doing something wrong because NO ONE had any complaints. If I had further questions I was to to contact my manager. My manager said to file a ticket. The circle of death. Nobody takes responsibility to fix anything and somehow it is always the MTs fault.

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what OSI cuts out of their line counts? Seeing as they use a remote website for line counts, it is pretty obvious they cut corners with what MTs get paid on. I was just wondering WHAT are the cutting? Do they only pay 1 space? Do they not pay if you copy and paste? I know this has been discussed before, but what is up with these line counts? I used to have no problem doing 200+ lph. Now, I work at the same pace on an account with less ESL speakers and I struggle to get my required 150 lph. According to the Escript, I'm doing an average of 300 lph on VR but usually at the end of 8 hours, I don't top 1100 liines most days. On Dictaphone's ExSpeech, i used to consistently do 1800-2400 a day on a combination. Hi - I have a question regarding counting templates. I have a new doc who wants me to only count what he dictates, and not the templated review of systems, past medical history, social history, etc. which is all unchanged (unless he says to change it). Do you cut and paste your work into a "count" file to get the total, or do you tell the doctor that it has to be included in the count. I am just curious as to what line count standards are out there. What are your line count requirements for the day and how much do you use your QA for things like missing encounters, unable to ID patients, incorrect work types? I have been an MT for over 10 years doing hospital work.
