Excision, lesion right lower leg - cc

Posted: Mar 31, 2012

Can anyone help with my missing word..sounds like drrav... Lesion was excised in full thickness manner taking a cuff of normal-appearing skin with it. The ___ skin under localization was done prior to full thickness excision.

Suggestion - sm

Hard to tell withut hearing what went before and after. "The drrav skin under localization was done" does not make sense. Not just the drrav part, but the rest of it.

It is something that would be done prior to the excision itself. See if you are hearing something about local anesthetic and possibly even lines being marked.

don't understand how it sounds - sm

Does this sound right?

Lesion was excised in full thickness manner taking a cuff of normal-appearing skin with it. The skin localization was done prior to full thickness excision.

I'm not sure if the second sentence is:
The ___ skin under localization was done prior to full thickness excision.

No, that does not make sense. - sm

"The skin localization" makes no sense. What would that be? Local anesthetic, maybe, but there s no "localization" associated with excising a skin lesion. I can't imagine what that might be.

Perhaps if you gave what went before all that it would help.

The way this is phrased is even strange. Is this an ESL? If so, what language?

Here's what I've got so far:

Localization achieved 1% Lidocaine 1:100,000 Epinephrine solution. Lesion was excised in full thickness manner taking a cuff or normal-appearing skin with it. The ___ skin under localization was done prior to full thickness excision.

Anyone help out here??

I got it!!

Standard localization was done....

OH boy!!
What is "standard localization"???? - sm

Are you a student?

Localization does not make sense. That surgeon is not localizing anything. He is administering local anesthetic, and that is not called "localization."

I believe you are hearing "local anesthesia."

No I am not a student...

I have replayed this a thousand times, fast, slow, etc. and twice in the dictation it sounds like localization... There is definitely the "shun" sound at the end..I agree with you that local anesthesia is right...but I'm not the doctor dictating!

could drrav be prep and drape of .. nm - Lynn

Lacrimal Dilators For Perineal Lesion Excision?
Feb 09, 2013

I am doing a report for a doctor and surgery that I don't normally do.  The surgery is for excision of a perineal lesion and fistulous tract.  She says she uses lacrimal dilators.  It s/l lacrimal anyway but I can't seem to confirm that this is correct.   Using lacrimal dilators the wound tract was explored and found to approximately 4 cm in its greatest length but non-communicating with perianal glands or rectum.  There was a blind ended sac.  With the l ...

BOS3 Question, Is It 3-cm Lesion Or 3 Cm Lesion?
Apr 30, 2010

I have the BOS2 which says the hyphenation should be "a 3-cm lesion," but "the lesion measures 3 cm."  I was recently told that the BOS3 changes this and now they don't want hyphens in there at all. I don't have the money to buy the BOS3 yet, but if there is anybody who does have it, would you be able to tell me what it says about hyphenating or not hyphenating this?  Have they changed this now? ...

Bilateral Lower Extremity VS. Bilateral Lower Extremities
Oct 18, 2012

Hi all, There is a discrepancy with the proper use of this - can anyone help? Some at my work are saying it should be bilateral lower extremities, whereas others think it is bilateral lower extremity since the "bilateral" implies that it's plural and hence no need to say "lower extremities." I've seen it both ways, but the more that I think about it the more I'm getting myself confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated! ...

MT Pay Going Lower And Lower.
Jun 19, 2011

I think it is very easy to see that with MT pay going lower and lower like 2.5 cpl that there will be very few MTs that stay in this business and who would even want to study to become an MT.  This country has lost so many jobs overseas that I have no idea what the future will hold for many people to even try to find work.  Unbelievable to think that we can survive in an American economy on wages that are paid overseas which is exactly what is happening.  It is impossible to do.&n ...
