because they are the people who actually do their work without complaining, who actually do the number of lines they say they will do,
who treat this as a "real job." Just sayin'.

but I am assigned many jobs--stats, templated jobs, etc., because I have been told that I am reliable, make a minimum of errors, and they know that if they give it to me it will be done promptly and correctly. If that makes me a favorite, then I guess my company has them.

P.S.--Any job has "favorites," be it because of a personal relationship with mgmt, doing your job correctly and without (as Annie above said), etc.

My manager knows she can rely on me to get the work done quickly and accurately, and, as a result, I'm at the top of the list to be called when there is an incentive/bonus offered on my account.

It seems so obvious; do your work, do it well, be reliable, and you WILL be rewarded in some way.

I think some people (not just MTs) don't get that.

We must be "old skool," but it's sure working for me.

titles that are subsidized or well paid positions that are not held responsible for doing their jobs, just for spitting out rhetoric or giving the MLS grief, (like employee advocate, trainer, HR assistants, etc.). Of course, there are a few MLS that are given the choice work, too, but not as much as those that are promoted and have never met the qualifications for the jobs.

My old computer's hard drive is dying quickly. I need to move all my favorites/bookmarks from the old one to the new one. I've tried import and Export and it doesn't work. I tried copying the favorites to a CD-ROM but don't know how to get them onto the new computer. I've spent all morning searching for the answer and trying to move them over to no avail. I tried coping the files from the CD-ROM to the new computer and supposedly it worked but I'll be durned ...

Why are these managers playing favorites? Don't they think that some of us know our teammates and talk to them? Just as an example, one of my teammates got a birthday gift, but some of the rest of have never even gotten a birthday card or note saying happy birthday. Some get thank you letters if they spell a word right and the rest of never even get a thank you when we have worked hours to help get an account out of trouble. Can anyone answer me why is it that these MT companies hire you and they all promise you the sun, moon and stars. Oh we have TONS of work. We guarantee you at least 11 accounts and 2,500 lines a day. pay us hourly anymore anyway make us punch an electronic time clock? What's wrong with sending simple timesheets like we did for years? The company I work for has gone VR (on most jobs). I cannot make any money doing this. My pay has been cut approximately $150 to $200 every two weeks. They have already taken away the incentives, and now if you screw up a couple of times on demographics, you do not get paid for the job, and the third or fourth time you are pulled from the account. So, I see it all of the time, people on here complaining about no work, yet the company they are complaining about is HIRING. My job recently did this as well. I am day after day running out of work, but yet I see an ad that they are hiring! I e-mailed the owner and asked about it and she didn't reply. Periodically, I will cruise the MT help wanted, and see some companies that list the system requirements as "must have XP." My question is this: I wonder if they mean must have at least XP or do they mean MUST HAVE XP. I find it difficult to believe that any system out there only works with XP, as Vista has been around for a good long while and even Windows 7 (which I wish DocQ would update to) has been out for a bit. can make it on $15 a day!! I just started a week ago yesterday and have also run out of work twice. This is really pathetic.
