I'm a CMT w/ 16 years' experience in acute care. I just applied for PT w/ Breitner. After doing their little test, answering their employment history questions, and pasting my resume, I got this automated response -

Unfortunately, your experience does not meet our minimum requirement. We do have a continuous need for experienced medical transcriptionists. We strongly encourage all interested applicants to pursue additional formal training and/or experience to increase their skills and enhance their employment prospects with us.

The funny thing is that they emailed me w/ a link to apply...surely they got my name from ADHI...obviously if I'm a CMT, I've got the experience. What more could they possibly want? Silly...

don' be so hard on yourself. Everyone gets that response I think or most of us have.

A company I applied to, the woman I talked to said you have to get a perfect score. I passed Brietner's test so it is possible. They only pay 4 cpl for voice and 8 cpl for straight transcription at least that's what they told me bu again, don't beat youreself up!

I applied too and did the testing, etc. For everything that they want you to have, WAP access, BofS 3rd edition, and that your computer must have 2 GB of memory, I don't think they are worth the trouble. Very picky about everything. Like I said above, consider yourself lucky that they did this. I would not waste my time worrying about this.

to make any money at Breitner. The people are really great, but their platforms are horrid and their line counting methods highly suspect. Also, it takes almost 2 months to get your first paycheck because of how they do their payroll. There are much better companies out there. If you're looking for a good small company, try eMTS, they're awesome!!

What do you think about the catheterization report on testing for Breitner? I have done probably hundreds of these reports and know the terminology -- that is not the problem. I know they are testing our ESL skill too with this guy -- very bad dictator. Did anyone have trouble with sound quality and getting the foot pedal to work? I think this along with very bad dictator just did me in. I have heard they are not too great to work for though. Maybe it is good that I could not do the test, ...

I see where Breitner has a job ad on the other board for an oncology transcriptionist, yet when I go to the testing area, the only test available is for acute care???? If you are going to be hired for oncology, why would you need to take a test for acute care? Also does anyone know how much they pay for straight trans and for editing?
