Bayscribe - How would you rate it? - gin4

Any information you can shed on this would be helpful - never used it before. How would you rate it?

I was able to do 350 lph on this platform, straight typing. I loved it. However, I ended up moving to another platform. Bayscribe is very MT friendly.

A cinch to use - I also did 350-400 lph straight typing on it. Truly the best platform I've ever used.

I have been in this business 40+ years and I rate Bayscribe as the best and fastest platform I have ever used. It does not have all of the bells and whistles like, say, DQS (boo, hiss) but I like it so much better. It is simple to learn and easy to use. I give it an A+ rating.

Bayscribe is fast and easy to learn. Seriously, if you have any technological proficiency at all you can be up and running with just 15 minutes or so of training.

Think MSWord AutoText. I was full time with one company that used BayScribe and changed jobs to part time with another company that also uses BayScribe. After getting up to speed on the new account, I've been able to post pretty decent numbers being part time, and not having to recreate my shortcuts going from one company to another was a godsend.

I've also heard how MT-friendly Bayscribe is, though have never used it. My question is, if there are some systems that are so proficient, why do MTSOs not choose the ones that make it easiest for MTs to produce (and for them to make money)? For example, I've only used ExText but was able to do very well on that. Now editing on M-Modal, I think it's so cumbersome, both from technical aspects to how many times you have to take your hands off the home keys (thank goodness for IT and AutoHotkeys though why we have put in our shortcuts makes no sense either). I just cannot figure out why M*Modal is so popular with MTSOs? Is it cheaper? Or better M*Modal salesmen? Thoughts?

I have no clue. I also love ExText and did very well on it too. I agree, you would think the companies would use whatever is the most productive. I don't do editing thank goodness so I know absolutely nothing about M-Modal.

I updated to IE10 from IE9 and now the QA marker won't work. Anybody know what to do to get it to work? Anybody working on Bayscribe in IE10? I key in Alt-Q and the marker comes up, but when I press enter or okay with the mouse, the box goes away and no marker in the text. I can go in an uninstall the update if need be, but I was hoping this would work. TIA. ...

I started with a company using BayScribe. I have a rather unusual problem. The BayScribe expander will not function in the document. I can bring it up via Control F3 and can add entries, but they will not expand. When my machine is entered remotely, that user IS able to expand, but within the same session, I still cannot expand. I have uninstall, reinstalled, Norton off, IE setting fine. Toggling on and off makes no difference. I have been troubleshootin ...

Bayscribe shuts down a couple times a day and I have been getting this message ~ "Malfunction or malicious ad-on caused Internet Explorer to close web page." There are not as many bells and whistles, but so much easier to use, with basically one screen you are on rather than jumping all over to 10 other screens before doing the report. Wish we could stay here forever. ...
