Are you content with the company you work for and - sm

if so would you be willing to name your company?

Craft Transcription - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I am content to work for Craft Transcription. I have done an archive search and though they have a bad rep on here, I'm glad I gave her a chance. Some may disagree, but I'd rather make my own choice if a company works or not for me.

She doesn't constantly badger people to work and you can truly work when you want to.

I have to say I am not impressed with Craft - because it was mentioned in another post SM

[ In Reply To ..]
here recently that they were hiring. At that point, I was looking, and sent an inquiry to their recruiter/owner/general email address from their website to ask if they were hiring.

Never the courtesy of an answer in any form.

I worked for Elizabeth Craft for a short while and I found her to be very professional and flexible. Unfortunately I had to end my employment due to time constraints on my end.

Small local practice - MTPA

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm content in a local family practice after 8 years in the hamster wheels of 1 huge MTSO (Medquist) and 1 smaller but equally as devastating to my self esteem MTSO.

Keystrokes - Winston

[ In Reply To ..]
No complaints here. Only been there a year. No BS, no micromanaging. I'm treated like a professional and I get paid on time. And... I'm making a living wage, which I never thought I'd ever see in this industry again.

MedScribe in Florida - nn

[ In Reply To ..]
Recently started and so far love it. Still getting up to speed, but love their platform and the people I have encountered are very much like the old Webmedx days.

What do they require for quality score? - How often do they pulls lines?

Thanks

sorry typo....pull lines for quality.... - anon

I'm surprised anyone gets hired there with the recruiter - that fails to call back people he asks to call sm

[ In Reply To ..]
This Gary must be a real winner, really have it together when people apply, pass the test, he reads your resume and asks you to call him... but he doesn't call back after you do so.

What a moron. There's another word I'd like to use here, but it would probably get me banned.

Applied - and hired

[ In Reply To ..]
I applied with Medscribe last week, received a call from the recruiter (Gary) the next morning and was hired that day. I had my HR and tech install and I am scheduled to train on Wed. So far they have been very professional and I am quite excited.
There was a Med-Sdcribe in NJ - Deborah
[ In Reply To ..]
that was family owned and they moved to Florida. Do you happen to know if this is the same company? PW is the owner?

Very much so - Direct client contracting

[ In Reply To ..]
No middle man. No QA, BOS, or MTSO.

I realize this kind of arrangement is rare and those who have it likely set it up long ago. It's just not done like this anymore. Im fortunate to still be able to contract in this manner, and if I had to go work for a "company"... I wouldn't. I would do ANYTHING else.

Disagree with the Keystrokes post. Give it time. - Games

Many years of abuse and lies but you have to find that out for yourself. Just keep typing and hope you have 2 incomes, no bills, and good health.

Your experience may have been different ... - Winston

[ In Reply To ..]
When a company has over 500 employees, some will have experiences that differ from others. I haven't been lied to. I haven't been abused. I've earned every penny I've made at Keystrokes. I don't know why you've been abused or how, because you didn't say. I don't know what lies were told to you because you didn't say. You just said it like everyone was supposed to understand the "lie and abuse" blanket meant they do it to everyone... but again, my experience is different from yours. Maybe you mean if I'm there long enough they'll eventually lie to me and abuse me. "Familiarity breeds contempt." We've all heard it. I stay aloof. I don't have relationship with my bosses. I don't ask to be in the loop. I don't gossip with my coworkers. I just simply do my job... day in and day out... I do what they pay me to do. I do my job for the client like it was my company. When I make a mistake, I fall on my sword and try not to do it again. I'm loyal to them and know full well they don't ever have to be loyal to me. As long as the paycheck hits the bank on time, we have a mutually beneficial relationship. I do my job... they pay me for what I do. PERIOD.
Winston - see below
[ In Reply To ..]
LOL, your response is hysterical. Games is not lying. The loyal ones have been burned big time, it has gone on for years. Games is right, give it time, and you probably have been lied to since day 1 and just don't know it yet.
I'll tell you what's hysterical... - Winston

This is an anonymous message board. How dumb do you think I am? I carry angst for no one but myself. You can tell me your extremely vague sad tales and make your claims about being "in the know" about stuff. Ignorance is bliss. I don't know where any bodies are buried. I don't know any company secrets. I don't even know the name of the president of the company... don't care. Won't quit because you wink and nod on this hate-filled message board about what you think you know. Truth is, the only way they could have lied to me is to have not paid me what I worked for. They've done that every two weeks for a year and a half...like clockwork...at the pay we agreed on...no complaints. If your experience was different, I'm not surprised. I'm not you and you're not me. Keystrokes has a lot of employees... I've seen four complaints up here in the year and a half I've worked for them...FOUR...Compare that to M*Modal and Nuance, TTS and some of the others. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
Either that or he has been lied to and just is not willing to admit it - sm

Probably honeymoon phase going on.
*shrug* They haven't lied to me yet... - Winson
[ In Reply To ..]
If a job comes up at Keystrokes and you have a good work ethic, don't be afraid to go to work for them. I don't know how long my job will last there. I work paycheck to paycheck, like everyone else. I have no desire to climb the company ladder. I just do my job and get my pay. It's not a conspiracy. I'm a happy employee. No catch, no hidden agenda. I have nothing to explain. However, the innuendo being thrown about here, now that's another story. Got a real issue with KS? This is an anonymous board. Tell your real story, your ugly truth... you won't get me to quit but you might succeed in getting others not to go to work for Keystrokes. Fine by me. I like it busy... more $$$ in my pocket. Maybe that's your gig anyway... scared to lose your accounts to someone new. whatever.
Winson/Winston...like what you like and enjoy while it lasts. - anon

Glad the company makes you happy where you are and being that you are just concerned about the money and getting it on time. Good thing things have changed because of others who have fought over the years as too if it were not for this site, some of the MTSOs would still not be paying on time, so you should thank those who spoke up and fought for you, since that is all you are concerned about is the money. You are right in that this board is supposed to be anonymous. as it is not the court of law, but just a warning...take it or leave it, and it is just a precaution with food for thought. Believe what you want, just don't assume or make up false accusations about any negative poster and attack because it does not coincide with your glory story. Many have been burned. If you are immune to it all, then happy investment in your future years. Good thing you do not know the name of the owner or what really goes on...they like it that way. Four complaints in a month you say...try years...the list is long, some MTs are even deceased now.

I'm going to have to side with Winston on this one. Decide whether you are getting out of a job what you want and find a new job when your needs are not being met. Carrying a vendetta is not a good idea. It's simply not healthy. I get that you're trying to warn people and that's noble, but the good thing about the MT industry these days is there are a ton of jobs, albeit few high paying ones. A good MT can get a new job in about a week. So, while it's a pain in the booty to change jobs, it's not disaster like in other industries where it takes six months to a year to find another job.

Content In Report
Aug 03, 2012

I was wondering if any of you have typed for a physician that includes information about the patient down to them being self pay, not using the patient's insurance because "commonwealth" payout better and then this comment in the report about the patient not scheduling nasal surgery.   "He seems to make time to get other surgeries scheduled such as skin cancer surgeries, hip revisions and cataract surgeries done." this just seems inappropriate to me for the patient who will never k ...

Why I Am Content At Nuance
Jun 06, 2014

I got asked the question so I am going to answer it. I am not a manager. I am not a "plant". I have been in the field of MT for 25 years. I have worked for Nuance for 7 months, so I know things can change, but this has been my REAL and TRUE experience thus far: 1. I work the days and hours I want. 2. Upon being hired I was sent free medical spellchecker software, a free pedal and a free headset. 3. Paid training at $10/hr. 4. I am never OOW in my accounts except on holidays ...

Question For Those Content And Making Good Money - Please No Sarcasm
Apr 27, 2011

I ask that you not give me all the negative feedback because I have already read that, and plenty of it.  I get it.  People are frustrated.  I get that.   I am an MT of 5 years.  I went into a different career area because I have a degree in psychology and continued to do MT on the side so I wouldn't lose my skills.  However, personal circumstances at home make it easier for me to work from home, and telecommuting social work is not a career option.  I had ...

Mar 31, 2010

We are a pretty big company, and we think we know what transcriptionists want, but it doesn't hurt to ask.  There are a lot of top people in our industry that are finding themselves without jobs, often without notice, both managers and transcriptionists.  I think that the tide is turning, and that we need to make sure that we treat our people right, so if you could take a few minutes and answer this, maybe we can make a difference.  I am asking for real answers, ones that ar ...

Looking For A Company With No ASR And All USA
Nov 18, 2009

I have over 30 years in this field and it seems that a lot of companies are either cutting the MT's pay to edit on ASR and/or are offshoring work out to India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc.  I don't believe in sending our jobs overseas, and I've also given ASR at whirl (a long whirl lol) and I still couldn't increase my lines per hour to compensate for the cut in pay that I had to take by doing ASR.  So what I'm looking for is a company that does not do ASR, do ...

What Do You Look For In A Company?
May 14, 2010

I will begin my job search in a few short months after graduating from M-Tec. Reading the company board has been an experience with all the negativity, but everyone has different experiences with a company and entitled to their opinion. What would you consider a "red-flag" that would make you turn away from a company? No this isn't a school assignment or anything ...
