Anybody know anything about Cognitive Health Partners? - SM

I took their test at the mttest testing site and failed the screening portion! Now I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I have been in the MT business for 18 years and have never failed a test and I have taken 100s of them on mttest. So I'm stumped. Anybody else take the screening test and fail. Right after I took their test and failed the screening, I took another company's test and sailed through each portion and second company's test had a lot of the same questions on it. Soooooo.... I am just confused.

Others have had similar problems with MTTest. There seem to be some glitches in the testing process with saving errors and if you use caps it marks your answer as wrong. There is another thread on the main board about this very issue.

was ridiculous with questions like "if you had a conflict with a co-worker, how would you handle it" and many, many more questions just like that required long, essay type answers. It took a considerable amount of time to answer those questions and then to not even pass the screening portion of the test? Like I said, ANNOYING!

I went on their test site just for kicks. The other question that was even better was "what would you do if your boss was making unreasonable demands?"

I am guessing your screening test had a glitch in it. MTTest is quirky.

Yes. Same thing happened to me, but I see that some people on here have said that MTTEST will fail - what-a-day

if you use ANY caps when answering questions. For instance, now I remember that I put "Degenerative joint disease" when asked to expand DJD. That could have cost me the test.

RUDE and condesending in 2 words!!! Office staff was rude and arrogant after I failed their test. By Federal and EEOC, they cannot ask these questions (worked in personnel and employment before being home as an MT) I talked to a person who was DEFINITELY not in the US. This test, and I called them on it was totally unfair. MTTest SET IT UP for this company where the stupid essay comes into play. I got a response from "Ms. Rude" that 100 peoople had taken their test with NO problems -- not hardly

And I know I had taken almost exactly the same test before and passed it for another company - then, this morning I get an email from Career Step stating they heard I was interested in their program????? Seems fishy to me. Spoke to the recruiter at CHP also and she was abrupt and acted as if I was interrupting her day....just had that "feeling" since they are pretty new in the industry and decided not to proceed any further. Testing is ridiculous anyway, IMO - you sign on, and within a day or 2 they will see if you know what you're doing. :) JMO.

When I failed, I also got some message suggesting I get more education and suggested Career Step! Yes, after 18 years as an MT, working in both QA and MT, please let me take one of the online MT courses! I clearly I have no idea what I'm doing!

And I agree with you, testing is a waste. It's easy to see if an MT knows what he or she is doing within the first day or two. I'd go even further and say, in the first couple of reports!

I'm tempted to go back and fill their app out again and at the question about what I would do if I had a conflict with my boss, I'll put "I'd tell them to go run with scissors across a busy street off a short pier!" Or maybe I would just be profane since I'm clearly uneducated!

I passed the test, so clearly it is possible.

However, the e-mail I got back was poorly worded and makes me wonder if they are an American company. I just took the test to see if I could pass it.

I spoke to the recruiter after I took the test - some kind of accent there, maybe more like a slight British accent....supposely don't have many clients yet up and running. Glad you passed the test, but I still don't think testing is reliable - example: I transcribe major words a minute but if you asked me what the keys were on the keyboard, I couldn't tell you to save my life. It's just something you know....just like this line of work. :) LOL.

I almost did not take their test because of the postings but did anyway and failed. The test was very simple. I have 19 years and cannot believe I could have failed the screening portion but like others I could have used a capital letter or something and because of that I failed. What is up with this testing site. Has anyone had any luck discussing this with this company. There is definitely something wrong.

I've read on here previous comments about the ILPs not having the skill set to perform straight transcription/editing, and if that's true (and I tend to believe it myself), then exactly what is their purpose in the industry? Can they churn out the line count (or way above and beyond line requirements)? Can they create/edit a document that is ready for release to clients? tell me how that works? I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan. If your company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500? I think I'm losing my hearing in the "human voice" decibel range or frequency or whatever its called. I'm only 47, but in the past few years I have had trouble hearing conversation when there is ambient noise, as in a restaurant or at a party.
