Adding more to my plate - M Modal, Transtech, Accentus, and/or SoftScript - cupcake

I looked through the archives and found not a lot current about any of these places as far as pay and how the accounts run (straight typing or mostly editing)

So I am testing or interviewing with all of them right now to add to my egg basket. Transtech offered 8.5 cents straight typing and 4.5 for editing, said it would mostly be editing. I hate editing. Wanted more straight typing. Only really good thing I could find was the paying $40 for your internet after 90 days. Does anyone know if any of those others have straight typing at all? or if the pay is at least better? I make more than 8.5 cents a line at the place I currently transcribe for and it sounds about the same as Transtech so I figure why train for more work when it's just more of the same of what I have.

Any insight into M-Modal, Accentus or SoftScript would be welcome as far as if they have straight typing and if they pay decent.

If you read the archives you will notice that these companies all have mostly editing. I am not sure about SoftScribe, though but M-modal almost 100% editing and Accentus I have seen a lot of editing adds. I am afraid straight typing is slowing phasing out all together. Good luck. Look on the company board.

Over 95% of my work is VR, and I never, ever was compensated for my internet use. There is very, very little straight typing. I was hired almost 2 years ago now, and I was offered 4 cents for VR and 8 cents per line. They have a couple of new accounts, but I found out that one of them is mostly doing ER reports. There are a lot of things I would research about TT first.

reimburse for internet, you just have to send them a bill to document it every month. On another note, I think it is very bad form to post what they offered for pay rates.....

I am sorry this obviously struck a nerve for you, but a lot of people come on here and would like to know just what they pay, and many times they are given the wrong information.

SS has straight typing, but I wouldn't recommend it. They overhire quite a bit and work runs out all the time and then they expect you to make up time on your days off. You get nasty e-mails if they are behind telling you to make up your time, but don't want overtime. I would stay away from M-Modal formerly MQ, that is by far the worst place ever. I don't know about the other.

I have 2 GB of RAM on my laptop and want to add 2 more. There is an open slot to add it. My question is do I have to take out the 2 GB already there and replace that too? I have seen the memory sold in pairs, so they are made by the same manufacturer. Do both cards have to be the same? Can I just plug in a card by a different maker than the one already there? Who is responsible for adding the templates? I am finding a lot of errors lately in these when I pull them in. For instance, spacing. Several, if not many, are only single spaced between the end of a sentence and the next and only 1 space after a colon. Yet another thing to slow us down. Got "dinged" for pulling one in and not changing. I assumed (yes we all know what happens when you assume). That will never happen again if I can help it. Also noticing 1 space between state ...

The previous incision to the hip was once again utilized and the vastus lateralis split in its midline and separated from the underlying fracture. The fracture reduced beautifully and we were able to apply a Stryker *ocaval* plate with a trochanteric grip plate.Thanks for any help :) ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

30 y/o female, had arthroscopy, now 80% improved. Has concerns of muscle atrophy above knee . The doctor states she has a history of a "pedis plate" PCL tear. "Pedis plate" PCL tear? Those two words are in question. I can't find it on Google. Anyone else heard of this? I'm working over tonight.
