Accentus Employee on the new VR account. - Blue

Posted: Aug 25, 2012

Hi all:

Could someone who is currently working on this account please message me?

I recently applied for this position but after seeing all of the horrible things written about Accentus all over the Internet, it makes me wonder if it's worth the move.

Thanks in advance!

2-weeks turned in - Leaving

It's horrible. I refuse to do so much work and make so little pay.

I thought accentus was one of the more higher paying - companies?..No?

I found myself feeling like I was working way harder and longer for my money. The Apex system is set up so you load 1 job, type it, send it off and you are signed out of the system, load the next one, etc. In between this on your own time, you are entering all of the data for your log sheet you are required to keep, job #, whether it is VR or straight type, if it is sent to QA, # of lines, and length of time typing it. It sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to a minute to load a job, another 30 seconds to minute to send the job, and in an average day I typed 50 to 60 jobs, so that 1-2 minutes per job extra time loading and sending adds up!! (this time is included in your time working, but it sure affects your LPH)

Then you have to separate out your hours spent straight typing, and how many hours were spent VR, and the # of lines for each, and enter that info at the end of your shift on their logsheet. If you weren't able to work your full shift for whatever reason, no work available, sick, loss of internet, you now have to go to their nightmare scheduling software and figure out how to add all of that info there, and indicate if you are going to try to flex the hours or just take PTO, and that must be approved.

Then there are the multiple Apex error messages, at the end of a long horrible report as you are sending in the report, you get the dreaded message that it didn't go through, and you are just plumb out of luck. So that brings us to the next task, they say you can save all of your work and back it up on your own and then you can hopefully get the report back and paste it. This of course takes longer yet to come up with a system to save each job in case their system messes up. And of course, all of this time spent dealing with Apex crashes and issues is of course your own time.

Get the idea? The extra pay per line pretty much evaporates when faced with all of these other details.
I so agree - I left too - expected better

I lasted about 3-4 weeks. Their pay scale is good for this business right now, but you are right, the bulky system knocks that right back down into slave wages. I had a 26 minute report before but spent darn near 15 minutes looking up all the doctors all the cc's had to go to, and them being in Canada was not easy. Productive time way down. Scheduling stinks, no communication at all and rude. Not worth all the xtra time keeping and note keeping they want you to do, I can go to a lesser paying and in the time it takes me to do all the extra for these guys, I could have typed a report and made money. I had high hopes for this place but it was kind of a nightmare.
Thanks for reminding me it wasn't all rosy. I keep thinking I made a huge mistake... - Ex-Accentus Too

leaving with the CPL rates other companies are quoting, but with the reminder of how time-consuming the processes were, the upper levels would have been tough to achieve. The scheduling thing was a nightmare, too.
Were you on Apex 1 or 2? - See message

I don't experience some of those things on Apex 2. Apex puts 2-3 jobs in my queue. When I finish one, I send it back and grab the next one. It doesn't log me out every unless I manually log out (cancelling jobs in my queue first). The log is in case there is a problem with payroll, so it's for our own benefit and never turned in but available if there is a discrepancy in your line count vs what your paycheck. We don't have to log the time spent on a job.

I also left - Done

I was with On-Time for year and then Accentus bought them. I left the day they informed us of that, but I was already fed up with the 14 hour days and making pennies.

Statutory Employee Vs. Traditional Employee Status Inquiry

I'm seeing more and more job postings for statutory employee status.  I'm trying to figure out what an appropriate line rate request equivalent would be since I would be responsible for withholding income taxes.  For example if the traditional employee line rate is 8 cpl for transcription what would I need to request for statutory status?  The same or more? ...

LPH At Accentus
May 04, 2012

Hi.  I haven't been working for Accentus very long, but long enough that I should be meeting the 200 lph requirement for SR, but I'm still really struggling to do it.  I was wondering if anyone else had that experience or if maybe I am entering my time incorrectly or something.  I consistently average 165 lph for straight transcription so I feel like 200 is something I shouldn't be struggling so hard to meet, but I am.  I love Accentus so far so I don't wa ...

I would be doing cliniic work because I want the flexible 12-hour schedule to fit around a part time job working directly for a small hospital.   I may end up being bored, but I want to give it a try.  How is the clinic work and how is the Apex system?  I have previously worked on DocQspeech and Escription.  I really want no more than two accounts and to be mostly just left alone unless I screw something up.  Is this possible with Accentus? ...

ACCENTUS/TRANSOLUTIONS
Mar 20, 2012

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill.  They expect more and pay less.  I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet.  They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period.  It's better than what I had at Transcend.  The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
