If you send anything in writing, send with return receipt requested and/or tracking so there is proof they received it, especially if you end up in court and/or if IRS ever questions why you have that write-off. I would try to hold in your anger if you think there's a chance you will get paid, but I know that's easier said than done. It kind of sucks if they know you're in a different state, can't go knocking on their door kind of scenario. Good luck to y'all, hope next place is better. And, hindsight being 20/20, maybe check next possible company with BBB and/or in Google, or here. Google good for some things; for example, I used to check if company was a DBA of Nuance and had different name (that tells you something about a company, 8 other company names so prospective employees don't know who they're working for)
