I don't consider this true closed captioning - anon

While I do see a need for "note takers," I don't see how this can be called closed captioning since it is not anything near to being verbatim. I applaud you for what you do, but note taking is not equivalent to giving a student verbatim captioning, and I don't consider it equal access for a deaf student.
Sadly, I think this is a way for schools to save money by not paying realtime captioners (court reporters who can provide CART services).
When students can choose between note takers and CART, many prefer CART. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of them out there, they are costly, so I think a lot of learning institutions choose note takers for the lower cost.
