The article is about how VR is not what it should be and how we are not paid enough to maneuver through it with the knowledge we have as well as our competitors. We no longer make a living wage.
COVID and working from home is entirely different. It doesn't really change much. Most of of my friends with real jobs with real benefits are working from home, get the job done in less time, the bosses are all laid back and friendly, they all get paid for their 8 hours, and go swimming for the afternoon. Do you understand now why this article is so important to the MT doing VR at 4 cpl?
The others laid off from industries were getting an extra 600 per week; more than they made actually working so they don't want to go back to work.
Of course, everyone knows this job is supplemental unless you want to work your life away. No way could this be a career with great benefits and career growth. If anything, it is going in reverse. We get all the trash and are very much underpaid; the premise of the article.
