Career Step - Do not do it

Those schools lie and will not do you any favors after you finish the course, because it will be difficult for you to get a job with no experience. For what these companies pay now, and for what you would pay for that course, it would probably be two years before you showed a profit.

My advise would be to get some books on medical transcription from the library and try to find some sort of program on tape or CDs.

There are hundreds of qualified MTs out there looking for jobs, the competition is tough.

This is not to discourage you, but to give you an alternative way to approach becoming an MT, rather than going through those schools, which again are all liars and expensive.

I saw a job on Indeed for a company and it said up to $50,000 a year potential earnings. That is a lie, unless you work every day for 10 hours a day and you will be an independent contractor with no taxes taken out, no benefits, no raises, no nothing but harsh treatment.

Please reconsider this line of work at this point in time. Find another job and try and learn on your own in your spare time and then try applying and see what happens.

Happy MT has a job and experience, you cannot base what she said on yourself!
