No, the landlord raised the rent 200 a month - then kicked me out Posted: Mar 31st, 2020 - 8:31 am In Reply to: Gave up house - Good luck
Around Christmas the landlord said he wanted to raise the rent 200 a month. I had been there for 8 years and he raised it 100 every other year. He said since I was an MT (with 3 jobs) I wouldn't qualify and he gave me a few weeks to gather my things and leave.
He said I'd get a good reference.
So there's that. I couldn't qualify for 3 times the rent anywhere as I had sent resumes trying to get out of MT but I had too much experience and could only get the IC jobs. He knew all along what I did and was counting the days. Luckily I had family to move in. I did not tell the landlord as far as he knew I went homeless.
