something coming in until you find something. Take advantage of any state benefits available, i.e. food stamps, job training. As for insurance, since you were laid off, you will qualify for a special enrollment period on healthcare.gov. You should be able to find a plan at a much lower cost and covers more than the AQuity insurance covered. I too was laid off a couple months ago after 18 years here, same speech, blah blah. I, too, was initially shocked, but within a few days it was like this HUGE burden was removed, a really great feeling. Go get that unemployment so you can take a breath before deciding what your next move is. Good luck!
