Sure, most of use shortcuts that expand to the full word with an expander program. That's not what we are talking about here. The OP was criticized for using one in her post (plz). We aren't and shouldn't be held to style perfection when posting a question. The OP did nothing wrong by using one here, and I'm sure she wouldn't have used plz in the body of a report.
