Same as any other company or industry. All these people network, gossip, backstab, etc. What do you think the admin people talk about on breaks or at parties, or especially now in FB groups with private messages or email? It's the same as people standing around the coffeemaker in the break room 30 years ago in house and gossiping about someone, that someone happens to walk into the room and dead silence falls upon the talkative group.
Very easy for a bad word to get around about someone and much easier now that we have social media we didn't have 20 or 30 years ago. Look how things are posted on here.
