You may want to consider some of us, myself included, sm - Long-Time MT

have not had to look for a job or send our resume, at least in the fashion it is done now, in a very, very long time.

Since 1998, all of my positions have been obtained word-of-mouth, in other words, someone recommended me, I called the MTSO, and was given the position based on my references, alone. I didn't have to send a resume, or take an hour-long test to prove my abilities.

I would like to thank Trish, actually, for educating me that an attached file should be labeled in a fashion recognizable to the employer. I had no idea. Mine are named in ways that are helpful to me: Resume CSA (customer service associate); Resume non-MT (receptionist), etc. I have just started looking for a position outside of of MT and was getting no response, so maybe Trish's advice will be helpful.

Please, before you label MTs lazy, you may just want to consider they have been doing this job, possibly for the same employer, long enough that they are not yet familiar with the current technological intricasies of applying for a position.

If you do that, I will refrain from pointing out that someone who does not correct typos and lack of punctuation in their post isn't worthy of being hired. Or, maybe I won't, because while you're tired of lazy MTs, I'm tired of rude, better-than-you posters.

I hope you have a productive day.
