You are 100% right about never backing off and offering incentives. The arrogance of J and especially K knows no bounds. Once I had given my 2 weeks, K was as unpleasant, snotty and arrogant as any person I have ever worked with.
I mentioned incentives/bonuses MULTIPLE times to my TL for the backlog, but was told everytime it is brought up, that biggest B of all, VP of med recs, G, said she will absolutely not approve any more money for transcription whatsoever, so that'll apparently never happen as long as she's there.
