In my state, you can only earn so much through work and still draw partial UE. I'm not sure of the amount, but I believe it differs by state.
I drew UE benefits until I started school. TAA kicked in once my 26 weeks of UE was exhausted (2 weeks into the semester). I only receive my weekly TAA pay while I'm enrolled in classes. I'm on summer break now, so I won't receive any money until I go back in August.
I don't know if they told you, but you can apply for federal aid (loans and grants) for school. I am able to deny the loans but keep the grants. I use that money during my summer break since I'm not receiving TAA benefits. I do have the option of working during the summer as long as my employer knows I'll be leaving when classes start. I decided not to work since my husband will be having surgery later this month and our children will begin summer break on Thursday.
