I was qa for mmodal also. The dictation went through FIVE layers of Indian people before I got it. It was cheaper to pay those 5 than me apparently. But because I was the last one to touch it mmodal could claim it was done stateside.
They may have gotten better at medical terms but slang and common English still suffers. But as facilities and docs go to dragon and such there is no need for transcriptionists. Even as a coder now I don’t even look at the quality of transcription. Just make sure the doc hits all his elements.
